Default Is Hank Aaron in this image 1952 Clowns Team Photo

The image below is in the 1952 Negro American League International Tour Program. Aaron was on the 1952 team pictured ( though only for a fairly short time and I do not know when the team shot was taken) I think that I see Hank but I don't want to influence anyone. Tell me if (and where) Hank is in this picture. if he's in here it would make the program one of the earliest Aaron items

Thanks
Jason

I don't see Aaron there. Here is a photo of Aaron from that 1952 season with Indianapolis for comparison.

I agree with Matt...if he is in the photo that's the only guy it could possibly be.

I believe the tour was conducted in the post season. Aaron was sold to the Braves in mid- to late-June, though that wouldn't necessarily have precluded him form participating in the NAL tour.

Front row, three over from the right (first player in uniform) looks most like the single image posted.

Well, further research indicates that this is the 1947 Indianapolis Clowns team photo. Guess that makes it prety difficult for Aaron to be pictured now.......

If you do a google search on the internet for "1947 Indianapols Clowns photo" you will see that exact photo come up several times from various websites and sources on the internet. Here is the most reliable one:

If that the correct year I wonder why they used a 1947 photo for a 1952 program ??

It was much more common for Negro League teams to use old photos for their advertising, marketing, etc. Likely, there was much less availability of current photos as compared to Major League Baseball.
