Default SOLD 1947 St. Louis Cardinals Press Pass Jackie Robinson Rookie Year!!!

NONE graded by PSA! The only one in existence????

The Strike Against Jackie Robinson!

The Cardinals were the NL team of the 1930's & 1940's. Coming in First Place in the NL from 1941 to 1946, 4 of the 6 years, the other two seasons coming in 2nd.

They were the World Champions of 1946 and in 1947 took to defending their Title. Then came Jackie Robinson and the Brooklyn Dodgers!

Great articles on the 1947 Cards, #42 and the Strike:

St Louis was baseball's southern most city at that time, and Jackie would make his first visit to St. Louis on May 21, 1947.

The Cardinals players were plotting to execute a last-minute strike in protest of Robinson’s inclusion on the Brooklyn squad.

“If you do this,” warned National League President Ford Frick, “you will be suspended from the league. You will find that the friends you think you have in the press box will not support you, that you will be outcasts. I do not care if half the league strikes. Those who do it will encounter quick retribution. They will be suspended and I don’t care if it wrecks the National League for five years. This is the United States of America, and one citizen has as much right to play as another.

The Cardinals took the field that day. (read more in my links)

Making this PRESS PASS historic and an amazing piece of baseball history, and again the ONLY known one. Great item for a Jackie collector, a Cards fan, a Ticket Collector, or any vintage baseball collection!
