I don't normally collect press photos, but picked up this 1935 photo featuring HOFer Larry MacPhail (3rd from left), mainly because it also pictures a buddy of mine's grandfather, pitcher Bud Teachout (far left). Teachout had a brief major league career with the Cubs & Cardinals, before finishing with the minor league Columbus Redbirds (MacPhail's team). Couldn't pass this up.

I love mail! My first graded T206, a very crisp looking Harry Davis; surprised it's just a Good/30

Thanks Jimmy!

Ed,

Baseball players?

Greg,

Although the jaw line and the nose may remind people of Thorpe, remember Thorpe was 6'1".

Wow that's fantastic Craig!

Were you holding out for a big name player for #2000? or it just happened to be a Red Cobb by chance?

also I'd be curious to see your backs distribution % (just for fun) if you have it handy.

Thanks for the compliments on the Jennings everyone. I also picked up this bad mamma jamma, a card that was a pipe dream as a kid and something that I never thought I would own.

Default E94 Cobb

Not exactly a news-making Cobb, but I imagine this was found in a paper bag at some point. (I actually learned on this site that it's an e94 that's mislabeled.)

Would it be poor form to ask how much that one cost you? Been wanting one for a while!

Psyched to make a deal for this Matty outside eBay, and got to do the preferable in person exchange for it since the seller happened to live nearby. It's graded a 1, but looks much better in hand.

Nice Cobb. I want a red background, but can't seem to save enough to buy one. Maybe that should be a goal this year. I hear there are a few Ty Cobb backs going up for sale.

So I am a bit behind on my scanning.. Here are my latest pick ups!

The Bresnahan batting (x2!) gives me complete Cardinals T206 team set (all the fronts anyway..) except for some guy named O'Hara.

Hartzell, Criger & Bailey are my first American Caramel cards.

A huge thank you to all the board members who have helped me in my quest to complete (almost..) my T206 Cardinals team set!

Default Re: March 2016 New Pickups

I actually picked this little gem up from another board member about ten days
ago, but we agreed to postpone delivery of this card so we could both met up
for lunch yesterday. As I inch closer to this set (now only 16 cards away), I've
had the very fortunate privilege to get to develop several close friendships
during this quest.

To the board member who sold me this card, thank you! The next time we
meet up I'm buying lunch.

Picked up both of these from board members in the past couple weeks. Not really sure what to make of the Young. It's definitely some type of frankencard, but the front seems to be rather thin stock.

Just picked up this unreal T209 scrap. T209 "Color"...with no color!! Also a WST on the back. Never seen another T209 scrap like it.

It will be available for sale or trade once it is in hand.
