But the King did make the Big Book, even if some said it should not

Yeah, that's me . Most people have no idea that it exists. My updated stance on it is: list it but list all the other excess ink cards in junk Topps sets or none of them. I'd be happy with either!

Agree with you. Just a very scarce print defect. I only picked mine up because Lemke put in the Big Book at one time. But glad I have one. I also have a couple a of all green backs from 1967

The all color backs are most likely from the plate not being wetted which makes it not reject ink in areas that aren't intended to print.

There are other possible reasons, but that's by far the most likely. Tempered of course by it being Topps.
