Collecting all grades of 1989 UD Griffey
I seen a real good video about this but I can’t find it back .
Apparently there’s people trying to get 1989 upper deck Griffey’s in all grades . And since the population is low for PSA 1 PSA 2 PSA 3s etc- they bring more money than a PSA 7 (about $45) Here’s a link to a PSA 2 That sold for $516.55 https://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Ken-Gr....m43663.l10137 |

I guarantee I can provide a lot of PSA 1s at the low, low price of just $750 a pop for anyone interested....in fact, if anyone would like to send me any of those pesky PSA 8s, 9s or 10s they have, I would be happy to convert them for you. Free return shipping!
I think my ship may have finally come in! Last edited by deweyinthehall; 05-20-2024 at 05:09 AM. |

This is a thing in the Pokemon world too. You'd be surprised how much a 1999 Charizard in a PSA 1 holder sells for compared to mid-grades. I guess because there are collectors of all kinds, even those that demand low-grades, which are typically harder to find in the modern realm.

That’s really weird. Must be lazy people with lots of money. It’s not like it’s a rare card. Just buy some raw ones off EBay, ding them up, and send them in to PSA.

So - given this - I wonder if anyone would be interested in a 1989 UD Griffey ASA9????

Alan Hager was a decent grader of submitters cards, On the flip side there was always much talk that he had placed many of his personally owned altered or over-graded cards into holders. It's a real gamble to buy ASA and one of the reasons that any ASA card does not fall under eBay protection review as an unrecognized grading company.

Thanks and you weren't. I was aware of ASA's reputation due to other posts of this site. I have 4 ASA graded cards in my going to trade book. Have no idea when or how I got them. I wouldn't have bought them as Griffey, Bonds or Gywnn are not in my realm of collecting. The other one is a Sandberg which I may have bought at some time. I used to trade big time in the early 2000's and may have picked them up in a big trade at one point.
