Teddy Z and I were having an email conversation

Based on an old letter I saw here; I myself have a passion for both the 1962 and 67 sets in the 60's. I'll let Teddy talk about his 60's set |

My favorite is 1959 Topps. That really is what got me started with collecting. Neighbor kid had some, 3 or 4, and wanted to trade for some shiney stuff my son had. My son showed no interest so I got the cards and started the quest. Took me only about 6 months to complete the set through SCD and local shows (yes, local shows...there were quite a few good ones back then). Set has been broken but I remember selling my Mantle No. 10 PSA 7 to an outfit called WIWAG |

I actually like the 1963 Fleer set. As for 1950's sets I am an avid collector of both the 1952 and 1953 Bowman HOF players. |

I collect post war as well. In the last couple of years I've completed the 1954, 1961, & 1962 topps set which add to my 1972 to 1990 run. I am currently working on the 1957 set. I have a all the HOFer's and high dollar cards from 1953 on so putting those sets together will just be time consuming. |

1. '48 ('49) Leaf, for no aesthetic reason, other than they are so ugly I think they're cool. Half the set is tough, half relatively easy. 3 recognized variations, lots of color variations, and a bit of a mystery about the wrapper |

My favorite postwar set would be the 1963 Topps...just love the borders and the photography. I have been kicking around the idea of putting the Topps sets together from 1960 on up which looks like a pretty easy and relatively inexpensive thing to do as something my son and I can do together. I already have the entire 1972 set and tons of 1960-70s commons so it's just filling in the holes. |

My favorite Topps set is 1960 and favorite regional issue is Glendale Meats. I like the different colors on the bottom border on the Topps set. |

My favorite set from the 50,s 1955 Bowman,60,s 1962 Topps and 70,s 1971 and 1972 Topps. If I had to pick one it would be the Psycheldic 1972 Set. CN |

I collect T206 and E98s from the prewar era, but I'm working on a PSA 7 set of the 62 Topps because it is my favorite postwar set. I love the wood background and the vibrant colors in it. But more importantly, it has sentimental feelings to me because when I was a kid in the mid 80's, my grandfather gave me a shoebox full of old cards form the late 50's and early 60's. We lived in Oklahoma at the time, and when my grandparents came to vist us from Indiana, he brought this box of old cards along. Most of the cards in it were just in good to VG condition at best, but I was in heaven. About 3/4 of the cards in the box were from the 1962 set, probably about 60% of the set. I still have those cards gently tucked away in an album, although in their condition they probably aren't worth much, but of course they are priceless to me. A few years back, I lost the greatest man I have ever known and to honor him and help keep my memories of him alive, I set out to someday complete a set. I chose to start from scratch and go with PSA 7s because 7 was both of ours' lucky number, and it is a really nice grade which I can still afford! I have 103 so far, but I will never part with my old, beat up 62s which will someday be my son's. |

I'm building a 1965 Topps Baseball NM set. I'm a little over 30% complete right now and need nearly all of the key cards (Mantle, Rose, etc). |
