Default Was Casey Stengel a baseball card collector?

Posted By: john

I have been bombarded with questions regarding the 1895 Mayo Cut Plugs we have from the Casey Stengel estate. Does anyone have knowledge of other vintage cards coming from the Stengel estate? Has it ever been documented that he was a baseball card collector? I know you guys will have the answer, if there is one. Thanks!

It was awhile ago, but there was an auction of baseball stuff from Casey's estate. I'm remembering Heritage as the house that did the auction, but I'm not sure. I'd contact them to see if they know anything.
