Default Nice 1972 Topps Complete Set for Trade!! (scan heavy)

Over the years I was able to put together two complete 1972 Topps sets and, man, they were both monsters to finish up!! I'm obsessed with that year because Willie Mays came to my Mets and it was the first time my brothers and I started laying down our nickels and dimes to buy baseball cards at the stationery store, which was a long walk away.

Well, that's neither here nor there, but the good news is I now have a really nice 1972 Topps complete set for trade -- all 787 cards in their trippy, colorful, Grateful Dead-looking glory!!!!!

I scanned in every single card from the set, so check out the 88 pages of pictures here to see the entire thing:
http://s1226.photobucket.com/user/Jo...?sort=9&page=1

But, since the high numbers are the most important aspect of the set, here are scans of all of them to tide you over...

The good: This complete set is in pretty nice shape overall, including the high numbers. You'd be quite happy with it, so definitely look through all of the scans and see what you think!! It is important to note that I am on a non-stop upgrading kick, especially with regard to centering issues, so I am constantly improving small parts of it. The scans in my bucket are changed every time I upgrade a card. Also, I have acquired a bunch of exceptionally nice PSA 8 and 9 high numbers over the years (they can be seen here: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=207279), so I'd consider swapping those out for their non-graded counterparts in a trade, if that's something you're interested in.

The bad: I believe I have eliminated any dogs in the set, and I am continually and actively replacing cards whenever I get the chance, but it's possible there might be an occasional clunker. The main issue throughout lies in the occasional soft corners (which, for some reason, always look worse in large scans)…and, as is the case with ALL 1972's, the centering is all over the place! There will be a stain here and there and other normal issues across the 787 cards.

I'm not interested in selling it, just trading it.

Now, what am I looking for in return for this complete set? I am definitely not looking to give it away, so I want to get something thrilling in return!! But I am definitely open to hearing what you have to offer.

My collection runs from 1957 to 1979 with all of those years (Topps sets) either completed or in the process of being upgraded, so I am not necessarily looking for anything in that vein. The exception is the 1958 set, where I do still need the vast majority of cards. I also need to upgrade my Pete Rose rookie, Brooks Robinson rookie, Bob Gibson rookie, and of course, my Tom Seaver rookie. I am very interested in 1964 stand-ups, especially HOF'ers, and upgrades of 50's and 60's stars like Mays, Aaron, Mantle, Banks, Koufax & Clemente. So having those types of cards included in a trade would be optimal. Beyond that, I'm pretty open to anything that grabs my attention from T-206's on up.

If you're interested in making a go for this set and have any questions or want to see back scans, please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Continuation of the high numbers…

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Made some more upgrades by improving the centering of some important cards while replacing a couple of cards that had stains on their fronts.

Default what percieved value do you put on this set .

This set though not may RC's is sentimental to me as a kid I collected this set more then any other and they are all gone except a few PSA 9 Tigers. Iam willing to make you a fair offer to your honesty of value. Thank you

I have just upgraded more than 50 cards in this set. Most were based on centering and/or corner issues. I added quite a few of really hard cards to find centered. I also replaced a few HOF'ers, adding a beautiful Willie Mays and an extremely nice Roberto Clemente In Action card. The Nolan Ryan is off centered, but pretty nice.

Definitely check it all out by hitting the link at the beginning of this thread and let's talk trade!!

Bump it. I upgraded a batch of cards including a couple of 'minor' HOF'ers. Plus, I have a couple of high number upgrades on the way, including a replacement for that horribly OC Rico Carty.

I know I had asked about a possible trade on this. But what about buying it outright? I might can do that too. I'll also check your want lists as I've gotten a bunch of new stuff in over the past few weeks. But shoot me a PM on what you'd need sale wise. That's probably going to be the way I need to go on this.
