Default Help identifying a Cincinnati Reds photo year and possible origin- Fred Toney

I was wondering if any of the members can identify year/origin of the Fred Toney photo/snapshot that I have attached? I have a tendency to believe that this was part of a set because of the printed "Toney" in the lower right hand corner. Dimensions of the photo is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2". Toney's signature on front and back are originals in fountain pen.
I appreciate your help in advance!

I've seen lots of these snapshots over the years...Not sure if the Reds put them out or what, but they are from the 1940s.

There were snapshot-style photos that were sold commercially back then-- perhaps via catalog adds-- and that very well could one of them. I say that as the post was obviously commercially shot, and I've seen others in the same style. I know Rowe (forget first name) did a bunch of commercial snapshot sized photos-- in fact had the original box and his personal receipt and note for a bunch.

Yeah, they were probably sold in the back of magazines in the classifieds...I've seen many different players on these deckle edge snapshots, but I've only seen Reds players have their names on the front.
