Are you paying extra for cards where he is depicted holding a cigar?

Yes and flipping the bird. Love to flip the bird.

And I'm tempted to buy this card, really tempted. Except that it sold in Mastro like an hour ago for less than half the price. Nonetheless, it does seem like the market has just doubled overnight for the card:

I've seen that quite a bit lately - cards I've bid on or watched in auctions showing up on eBay within weeks at hugely inflated prices. It seems dealers are interpreting some of the actualized prices at auction as being "steals" and think they can sell them for quite a bit more. At some point they will wake up to find no one willing to pay more then they did at major auction.

Matt, it's almost delusional, the thinking that goes on. For example, the seller of that Radbourn currently has 318 cards on ebay which have a BIN price of $500 or more. Yet over the previous 15 days he's only sold 2 cards for over $500. Clearly only the most irrational fool(s) are being caught by his prices...and yet he still soldiers on.

If you don't need cash flow, and have a huge inventory, the PT Barnum school is the way to go -- often enough, people will pay your insane prices.
