Default My latest purchase

Yesterday, I bought of collection of 260,000 cards. I have looked through several boxes, and I am happy with my purchase. However, there is one anomaly.

One of the 5000 count boxes of basketball cards contained 1500 Brevin Knight cards (I never heard of him) and 3500 Vin Baker cards. I will have to get back to the guy and find out why in the hell he collected 3500 Vin Baker cards and 1500 Brevin Knight cards.

Anyway, I thought it was interesting and strange and that I would pass it along.

Rick

What about Wofford? Any cards of Jim Neal?

Or Fletcher Magee, "an American basketball player for Studentski centar of the Montenegrin Basketball League"?

Who knows? I might run across a box of 3 or 4 thousand Wofford cards!

Don Buddin was a Wofford grad and a Boston Red Sox shortstop in the ‘50s.

Don has about 6 baseball cards that may be in your haul, Rick.

Well, Vin played college ball in my neck of the woods. University of Hartford (my daughters alma mater), which I can assure you is NOT known for regularly pumping out basketball talent.

Vin was an exception and was a burgeoning superstar with the Bucks (your neck of the woods), before he was traded away in a convoluted three way trade involving Shawn Kemp. He had one very good season with Seattle at age 26 before injuries started taking their toll on him, and he was never really the same after that.

Coming from somebody who finally recycled hundreds of Mike Campbell Rookies that I had hoarded in the late 80's after becoming enamored with his 1st Round Draft status, 15-2 Record and 2.60 ERA at AAA Calgary, a couple moves ago........I understand the allure Vin Baker might have had for somebody looking for a cheap but promising dark horse to hoard cards of.

Brevin Knight, I have no idea. Fella must have thought he was promising.
