Default Needing Advice - Removing Glue/Newspaper from Card

Bought I beat up lot locally. Most cards are trimmed but still fun to go through someone’s old collection.

Found this 1954 Jackie Robinson that’s been trimmed but also had a piece of newspaper glued to the front.

Is there an effective method to remove the newspaper and glue from the card?

With a 1950's Topps card? They were made from much different cardboard than the 1910s cards were. You're more likely to destroy one by soaking it, but it's not really worth anything in the condition it's in.

Soak it in warm distilled water for an hour and see if the paper will separate. It's quite possible that the glue isn't water soluble, but that's really your only shot, IMO.

Oh, what a difference a year makes.

Appreciate the advice. I know there’s no value there but hoping to see the front so I can at least display it on my desk

I know some view it as controversial, but check out Kurt’s Card Care on YouTube.
