Default Gehrig Bust Photos

I would appreciate your thoughts on this collection of Gehrig bust photographs. Various angles of the same bust. Do they have any value?

Interesting. Can't offer you any strong opinion on value but have never seen them before and they are cool. I can't imagine why studio pics of a sculpture would have significant value but keep digging. Never know Does not seem to have any connection to image on plaque in Yankee Stadium.

Thanks for interjecting with your thoughts. They came from the estate of Joe Bihler, Christy Walsh’s assistant, along with a dozen or so other photos. I hear you regarding the image itself but I think the photographers are highly regarded.

I echo Steve's thoughts. Speaking as a Lou Gehrig collector, they are nice, but a photo of a statue or other inanimate objects, typically is not that valuable or desirable to collectors in my experience.
Perhaps if you found someone who collected that specific photographer, it would be more interesting to them. For example, as a Lou Gehrig collector, an Ansel Adams of this statue has very little interest to me, but to an Adams collector it might be very rare for all i know.

Yeah, Cosmo Sileo is on many many Yankee photos from the 30s. Know the name well.

These were obviously taken post 1941. Anything post career, post-death is generally of much lesser value, and that's true for Gehrig and Babe Ruth and everyone else.

I agree with both of your thoughts, regarding desireability. I thought perhaps the bust was revealed on Gehrig’s appreciation day.... Anyone recognize the bust? Here is another photo from the same batch.Looks like photo of Eleanor, and McCarthy is on Appreciation Day based on Eleanor’s outfit.
