Default Orval Overall

I collect his stuff and just wondering if anyone also collects him or has anything really cool of his? Always buying his stuff but mostly wondering if anyone else collects him too!

Not for sale at the present time but am going to have to liquidate the hoard one of these years so check the obituaries. Great images on the Plow Boys. Was happy to pick up Orval a few years back.

Here are some comparison photo images of Overall (as well as a portion of his E90-3 card) that help identify that his E91A (and E91B) cards accurately depict Orval's facial features.

Hey, give me a little heads up when you decide to check out. You know we have similar tastes and all. But seriously, live long and live well.

This was in my Facebook feed today and I thought of this thread. From Philadelphia Inquirer cartoonist Charles Bell, 1910.

I keep telling folks that one of these days I will auction off the works but so far I've put things off. It's a depressing prospect. But I'm at an age where it is imperative that I tackle the onerous task of downsizing, starting with our house and its contents including baseball cards. I lived in the Bay Area in the 'eighties and had several good friends who were Cal grads. Have fond memories of many Saturday afternoons at Strawberry Canyon. I like the idea that the Plow Boy Overall be kept by a Cal guy so sometime down the road we can do a deal. Just not yet.

I'm not a collector of Overall only, but a collector of T206's. One of Overall's cards in the set is part of the 28 card "No Print" Factory 30 subset. Basically a hand cut card from a sheet that was removed from the print shop before receiving the scroll overprint and the Factory 42 tax line at the bottom of the card. There are currently 3 known cards in existence.

That's awesome - yes, whenever you're ready please reach out! I graduated from Cal in 2000 and since Orval was the first guy from Cal to make it to the bigs and since he's from the Central Valley (I'm from the Sacramento area, not overly far away), I'll been collecting his stuff for a good while (and am working on a biography of him). The Plow Boy has alluded me!
Take care for now!

Is this one yours? I believe PSA has graded two of them (authentic altered, obv, since hand cut). I've not seen one available. If yours becomes available, I'd certainly be interested!

I don't focus on Overall but I have a few as part of my Cubs collection. Nothing super amazing.

Yes, my Overall No Print is part of my 28 card complete subset, and is not available. I still need a second Overall, which I have a long term pending possible trade in the future. If I track down an extra, I'll let you know. I have the only complete set known. I am working on a second set, and currently have 19/28 cards. The second set will be more difficult, because 3 of the cards I still need, only have 2 known cards.
