Default Can somebody explain what happened in this auction

Posted By: Elliot

He (she) cancelled most of the bids saying that the item was no longer available. First, I hate when that happens (when a bidder retracts it is recorded on his history, but not when a seller does essentially the same thing), but then also, all of the bids weren't cancelled. Realistically, I'm sure the card was sold to somebody else, but why were only some of the bids cancelled?

Default Can somebody explain what happened in this auction

Posted By: Vognar Julie

Couple of months ago, a guy was auctioning off a whole box of Kashin cards. He was not a card guy, and made a mistake in setting up his auctions (mentioning ALL his auctions on EACH auction page). E-Bay blew him away: "think over your evil set-ups, and return in a month." Fortunately, I had a bid in, so I was notified. For some obscure reason, I was bidding on the last Moe Berg card I needed to make my collection complete. I wrote to him; he asked for an offer. After a week, he asked if that was my absolute highest bid. I told him "I was going to bid 555.55 as a limit bid. I don't want to pay that much, but I will." I got the card, which lists for 160.00, for a mere 490.00. aND ALL because E-Bay cancelled his auctions on a technicality.
