I’ll start. Sandy has some corner wear, but I still thought he looked good for the price!

Snagged this beautiful 51 Campanella and am super happy with it. I think it's one of the best catcher cards ever made!

Great looking Koufax right there, I need to pick up some raw as well.

Matthew & Adam, those 50's Bowmans are outstanding. I wish I'd gotten the Campy when it was affordable. Great pickups!

Back from a private signing. Almost have the entire Rose run done. I already had 63/64. Need a couple of 80’s cards. I know he signs everything but his 60’s and earlier 70’s are tougher to come by.

So I went a little crazy on 1952 Bowman recently, but am very happy with the results:

1952_Bowman_Mays2_1

1952_Bowman_Musial_1

Also picked up this Minoso that I have been chasing for a while. I have no idea why it's a 5. Great eye appeal.

These gems arrived this week. Just out of curiosity, and to help me calibrate my eye, if I were to send these in for grading (which I won't), what do you think they might get?

The backs are clean and sharp, and no hidden creases that don't show up in the photos. Ted has a couple of very small (1/8") indentation lines visible on the front surface if you angle it to the light, and Stan has some fraying on the bottom right corner. Back is similarly O/C. Thoughts?

Thanks!

**By the way, I tried to edit this post literally 10 times to get the images right side up. If I save the jpgs vertically, they rotate 90 degrees to the right. If I save them rotated 90 degrees to the left...they rotate 180 degrees when uploaded. What is the upload issue causing that?? It's incredibly annoying.

Andrew those are both great cards. I would guesstimate 3-3.5 for both. And I’m as much at a loss on posting pictures on this site as you.

I'm stumped. Do you (whatever image editing program you use) have the capability of combining the images into one larger image? Perhaps that would avoid the 90 and 180 degree reorientation problem? I have always used a PC based photo editor for uploading at this site and have never run into the issue you describe, so it puzzles me.

Andrew, I've found that if I crop the photo just the tiniest bit, the image will stay upright when I upload it. If I don't (even if I rotate it on my phone's editing software), it often flips.

And Matthew, man... you're KILLING IT with the 52s!

I LOVE seeing the 1952 Bowmans....still an undervalued (relatively speaking) and very collectable set. I only have eight cards to go to complete my mid grade set (and I have all the BIG ones) but I'm taking my time because I don't want the "chase" to be over. I did recently add this to complement it. As with most things, I wish I would have picked this up a couple years ago when the wrappers were cheaper and easier to find:

Picked these up at a show this weekend. Love the Doby and these are my first Musial and Banks cards. I've been struggling to find a manageable vintage project to work on and I think the 58 Topps All-Ster "set" is going to be that first "set" to build. Love the look of them.

Nothing to knock your socks off, but this was a nice upgrade for my Ryan base card run. The '77 I already had is a well-loved G at best...

If you upload pics via a cell phone (or iPad) through the Tapatalk app, the pics don't seem to have rotation problems. They will take multiple attempts to upload though, as the format of this message board I'm guessing is a bit antiquated. Most modern cell phone pics are way larger by default than what N54 seems to want to accommodate. If you keep trying though they will eventually upload - weird.

First up, I was thrilled to land this 71 Brooks Robinson. They're so tough on 71s these days, but this card checks a lot of boxes. Centered. Focused image. I've always thought this was such an odd image. This was the early days of action shots for Topps, and honestly.....they weren't very good at it yet. Looks like he just swung through a pitch that had him fooled pretty bad. Also, this means I only have 3 cards left to complete his run of cards.

I'm not as far along on my Frank Robinson collection, but I've made some progress in the last 12 months. He has so many great-looking cards with crystal clear pictures of his intense face. So I like that he's ALMOST smiling in this one.

Continuing with the Baltimore-themed collection, Al Kaline went to Southern High School, which a short walk east of where Oriole Park at Camden Yards is today. As my options for acquiring Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson cards has dwindled, I've been starting to look for nice Kaline cards to add to my collection. These are a nice start.

Solid pickups, congrats. That '71 Brooks looks better than the grade to me.

Another upgrade for the Ryan base card set. My other one is nice enough, but not centered this well:

Nice card John. This card illustrates where Ryan got all that power. He was built like a tree trunk.

Yep. All those early Mets were taught the same. Seaver pitched with his legs too...

I’ve wanted this cards for a few years. Had a deal in place a year ago on an eBay best offer but the seller got a better offer as we were finalizing the deal. A few weeks ago I bought one only to have the seller cancel the order and tell me it wasn’t available. Third times a charm! This is nicer than the previous two.

I recently completed my 1950 Bowman Set, but it bothered me that Satchel Paige and Stan Musial aren't part of the checklist, so I went ahead and added them to my collection. As far as my collection is concerned they're 1950 Bowman cards 0A and 0B.

Member pick-up, thank you Mark. One of my favorite cards from the set, not only do you get a great image of Aaron but you get an action shot of Willie Mays sliding into home. I've been looking to upgrade my raw Aaron for a while now, I must have looked/tracked a couple hundred of these over the last year. This one hit the right combination of centering and skin color (they lean too red on some), the green label is a plus also.

Great looking card Phil. Mine is so chewed up. With a card as clean as this you can really appreciate what the card is supposed to look like.

Mine's a keeper. My dad bought it in 1956 when he was ten, and it suits me just fine. It's beat up because he played with it, which I love.

That's the most valuable 56 Aaron, great story.

Some great additions recently! Zigger that 61 Williams looks very nice and Skelly those 1950B* cards of Paige and Stan the Man are excellent. Casey, that 56 Aaron is very, very nice for the grade with sharp focus and bright colors (including the borders). Gashouse, can't go wrong with a 55 Banks. I've always loved that card.

I've been chasing this 1950B Doby for a while. Glad to have finally landed one!

Wow, looks like this month`s additions are even better than usual. Both those Willie Mac`s are beautiful and Matt your 50 Doby is awesome Sir. For me that`s what a baseball card should look like !

Love the Doby. Great card of one of the most underappreciated players in th game. Nicely centered too!
