Default My daughter and I met the 2012/2013 Dallas Mavericks today, pics and graphs enclosed

After the Rangers choked up the baseball season, my daughter, Maven, and I are excited that roundball is right around the corner. We found out yesterday that we won two passes to meet the Mavericks today. We really didn't expect to win, so we weren't prepared with premium items. We stopped by Home Depot on the way up to look for small floor squares, but they wouldn't let us buy enough small squares, so we went to Wal Mart instead. We got a basketball first, but Maven decided instead that she wanted something that would hang on her wall, so we put the ball up, and bought a $12 wooden plaque and when we got to the arena, we decorated it with a $4 puffy emblem. Total cost $16, and a happy dad and a happy kid. I've had a nice unsigned Nowitzki jersey hanging around for a couple years now, so I took that for myself.

The Mavericks know how to run a signing. We both got the whole roster!! I got Dirk on a nice swingman jersey and the rest on a team sheet, and Maven got her plaque signed. Always a fun day when I get to spend it with my daughter Here's some pics:

Great experience for you and your daughter--and believe me, I know nothing is more important than that.

But, man--I'm glad I don't collect modern autographs. You can't read a single name.

Very cool. Wish I had done something like that with my daughters when they were younger. They are now almost 20 and 17 and neither are into sports.

should have gotten the big glove signed. I'm sure they would be surprised signing a glove.

Not a basketball fan, but I am a fan of good dads and cute kids who like spending time with each other. Way to go!
