Default Photo Type experts help???

Not usually a photo guy, but I love Smoky Joe, and could not resist.

Can someone tell me, are these modern reproductions, originals, or ???
They look and feel the same as some other photos I have that are older, but I have no idea about pictures.

The Joe Wood appears to be the same pose as the Sporting News Supplement. Wondering if that is even possible.

Thanks,
Sean

Without having them in hand, I'd guess they were c. 1930's-40's era snapshots some researcher, historian, archivist, publisher made up from earlier existing photographs.

What exact PSA photo type that would fall under is not of great interest to me, so somebody else would have to chime in with that.

No idea when produced but definitely off a duplicate negative, so either type 3 or 4 depending on when printed. Would guess type 4 most likely.

The photos are from the 1940s-50s, You can tell by the deckle edges.

Not originals, but still collectible as they're old.

Not original to the period, but I do think they are kind of neat in that format.

Thanks. I probably won't send them to Beckett. I will keep Smoky Joe and unload the rest of them.
