Default December Pick-Up Thread

Not exactly a sought after player but I've collected 40-ish of these 2013 Topps Chrome Pink Refractors over the last handful of years.
The rarest refractor other than a Superfractor, the 2013 Topps Chrome Pink is #'d/5 copies only on the back.
They hardly ever pop up for sale or auction so its fun to add.

2013 Topps(and all the parallels) is one of my favorite modern releases ever. As a Braves fan, I truly appreciate this one in particular! I have been working on the Freddie Freeman rainbow with the same photo across the line for the past 8 years but for the Chrome, still need the cards with print runs 25 and under. Thanks for posting this!

Really wish cheap grading was still available. Got this card from eBay and it is a beauty. I really need to figure out my scanner settings and also clean it before I take pictures. The 1983, 1984, and 1985 Topps are really pretty cards if they are centered.

I love the Lofton Arizona, Cone and Wagner.

Great cards. I know they printed a billion of them but I never understand why ProCards and CCs aren't more popular. Especially for HOFers.

Thanks...they are cool cards!

I agree, I don't understand why minor league cards of that era are so low pop and low demand. Yeah, a lot of them were printed, but not as many as the major brands, and there are tons of those graded!

Either I've identified a "market inefficiency" in graded minor league cards of future HOFers, or I'm just the only person who likes them. Either way, I'm good.

Nah.. I love them too.. I've got a box of random raw 4 Sports that I can't wait to go through. Off the top of my head I know I've got a minor league Jeter and Pedro Martinez in storage that I think I'll get slabbed when prices stabilize or maybe SGC if PSA doesn't come back down to earth soon.

Good stuff! I have two more subs currently with PSA. One is a vintage sub, but the other one contains minor league cards of Votto, Wagner, Vizquel, Pettitte, Sabathia, Nathan, and a couple more Loftons.

I'm hoping that things open up again at some point at PSA, as I have a bunch of other cards I'd love to sub, including a lot of minor league cards, but they're only reasonable at a "value sub" level.

Who likes skateboarding? Here's a few just back from SGC, The Gonz is real tough, only two copies graded by SGC, none by any other company!

I want a Shaun White rookie (the snowboard one, 2003) but damn the prices on ebay are all stupid. Nice looking cards there.

Interesting that the ad looks pretty similar on both cards, but the PSA label is different. Not surprising, but interesting.

The one from hockeyhockey is a red tint and the card Peter has is a green scribble. In hand they look nothing alike.

Here is a great resource for the Johnson variations. This does an amazing job! I am up to 8 different variations of these graded by PSA and have many duplicates. It is a fun card of a HOF pitcher. These are truly undervalued.

i also have no idea about any of the variations for this randy card. i've seen a ton of them listed as marlboro on scoreboard that don't even look like the ad shows up. add it to the list of stuff i can't figure out about the hobby, it's a long one

Was going through a bunch of 80s/90s stuff I picked up here and there and got a few nice cards.. The Fleer Update and the Front Row cards came from a card board box full of random junk. Some decent rookies in the 1991 Fleer Update set.

Manny before he was Manny, Early 80s Ryan, and a few copies of the Fleer Update Pudge rookie:

Great stuff everyone! I finally added a 9.5 Yadier and Leaf Big Hurt. In keeping with December's theme I also received a Marlboro Man earlier this week.

A couple that arrived this week. The Griffey pairs with the AS Griffey I already had.

I have to admit, 1990 and 1991 Bowman didn't always do it for me, but they've grown on me over time. I like the simplicity of them.

62.3 career WAR, same ballpark as CC Sabathia (62.5) but higher WAR7 (43.4 vs. 39.4):

Sticking with the RJ Marlboro theme from earlier I am super excited to add this one to my PC. It just arrived in the mail yesterday. One of the clearer 10's I've come across.
