Default Scan upload for Dummies request

Posted By: RayB

One more time; can someone post the "adding scans to a thread" primer for dummies?

I haven't done it in a while and now I've forgotten how. I've tried a few things that didn't work.
Need N54 Forum instructions before they put me in the home.

Online images stay longer;
R click the image, choose PROPERTIES at the bottom, highlight the "Address/URL" (Begins with http://"), Copy that line, then return to VBC and PASTE into your message box right here.

Harddrive pics last only a week I think;
Click 'Insert Object' below. Click 'Temporary Files'. Click 'Upload' then 'Browse' for your image on the harddrive. Click the other 'Upload'. Click 'Insert Image'.

If your image is too large, N54 will give you that message. You can reduce the picture in Paintbrush a little at a time 'til the VBC accepts it.

First of all sorry for the issue you are having. Over in the Archives section there is a tutorial at the bottom of it. I only use the Net54 temp files and a few things to remember are....the scan can't be bigger than 128k and the name of it can't have any hyphens or spaces or weird symbols....so

T206cobb.jpg is good

T206 cobb.jpg is bad

T206cobby!.jpg is bad....

I think a lot of folks use photobucket and it usually works well. Other than that I think IE works best as a browser to do it. Hopefully in the next 2-3 months we will have a different hosting site and this will be a moot subject.....take care

ps...always always remember to do a preview to see what your post will look like before you hit the respond button
