To get a rough idea of color scarcity in the e94 set, how about a survey of how many of each color in e94's are owned currently by board members..here's mine.

Red 16
Violet 15
Olive 7
Blue 7
Gold 5
Green 2
Orange 2

Total 54 cards

Violet 1
Olive 3
Gold 3
Green 3

edited to add that I do have 1 M131...and of course it's blue...I don't consider these E94's but it's debatable...

I believe I have seen more green and olive with the overprints than other colors....

Don't forget that when you edit your post you have to remove the > at the end of your link or else it won't work.

First time I have counted them in a long time, I was really surprised I had an almost equal amount of each color!
Red 24
Violet 24
Olive 22
Blue 22
Gold 22
Green 21
Orange 1

GAI 57 PRO 3 PSA 25 SGC 46 Ungraded about to be sent in 5

Please remember that I pass on a lot of cards/colors because I already have them (working on a master set). Very few violets have popped up which I already have.
Hope this helps.

You are the biggest compulsive liar I have ever seen. First of all, I know you never had 116 E94's. Also, most of the ones on your registry, you had me sell for you, before you stole from me. I still have the e-mails - you asking me to sell cards for you to Tbob and others b/c they wouldn't have anything to do with you. Also, I bought a few myself - I even remember selling the PSA 5 Cicotte Gold to Scott B. Muskycaptain just sold the other PSA 5 - so there are the ONLY two PSA 5's! Also, I remember after selling cards to people - them e-mailing me to get you to take the cards off your registry - looks like you never did! Why must you always lie to try and impress others? Hell, you owned a few nice E94's over the years then sold most or all of them - why must you try to screw up serious number requests only to try and make yourself look big? We have all owned several nice cards over the years - the only difference is that we all don't try to act like we still own them and own others we don't!

If you were the big finder of the Tango Eggs (which Rob Lifson proved you were NOT), and you own a Tango Cobb and all the others, why didn't you take Rob Lifson up on his "reward" offer and collect the $100,000????? Wait, I know why - b/c you don't have the Tango set and was definitely NOT the person who found the cards. Again, you are nothing but a compulsive liar and a thief - quit messing up serious attempts by people to catalog cards!!!!!

By Midnight tomorrow EST, if you can post scans with you, a newspaper with tomorrow's date and the 116 E94's you claim to own (including the one's on your registry set that I know are missing, b/c I sold most of them for you), Your Tango set with Cobb you claim to own and the Drum T206 Cobb you claim to own, I will GIVE YOU ALL 8 OF MY E90-1 JOE JACKSON ROOKIES AND FORGET THE $900 YOU STOLE FROM ME! If you truly own all of these like you say and brag you do - then here is an offer that will make you put up or shut up! The reason I want you, the cards and a newspaper with tomorrow's date on it in the scan is so you can't take scans of other people's cards and claim them to be yours (like when you tried to sell me a Cocoa Cobb you claimed was yours and turned out to be Trevors!).

Again, if you truly own all of these cards you boast about, you can get them together tomorrow and get eight Jackson Rookies and be washed away of your debt where you stole from me! Hell, I would scan everything in my house for eight E90-1 Jacksons!

DAMN!... thats all i can say about that! Ofcourse when doing a survey it is important to note if cards you are listing are previously, and not currently owned so they arent counted multiple times.

Dang! I wish someone would offer me $100,000 or 8 Shoeless Joe Jackson cards if I scanned all my e94s and put a newspaper next to them! I could use a long vacation
Seriously, I would like a breakdown of the orange variations which each collector has in their collection for my own curiosity and also information on a possible e94 article I am contemplating writing. Mine is the Devore, I know Alan has two, one the Crawford and the other the Devlin. Who else has one in their collection and who is/are it/they? I have seen a Jennings and a Speaker so I know they exist but I don't know who ended up with them.
Thanks,
tbob

this small poll certainly does not reflect a scarcity of violet backs...as I've heard for years...what's up with that?

Barry- None in our lot, Alan won the Mastro lot (Lionel Carters) and he got the 2 oranges I mentioned.
Pete- I have a theory. Almost every violet I have seen for sale on ebay has been purchased by someone who is a Net54er. I know that sounds absurd but it seems to be the case. The popularity of E94s in general and violets in particular is extremely high among 54ers. Because so many of these are being gobbled up by 54ers, they tend to show up in the pop reports we do here on the board in inordinate numbers. I know that sounds a little goofy but if you have followed them the past 5-6 years this looks like the case!

Bob may be onto something here. Though I only have a few, I have gone the extra mile in a couple of cases to pick up a purple copy when available. Though my numbers are quite small when compared with others, I think this could be a factor. We also should probablly consider Scott Elkins perspective on some of the numbers presented and perhaps re-evaluate.

Pete- I am as guilty as anyone in buying violets. A lot of 54ers like Jim B, Wayne, Darrell, Alan, Rob, Bruce and others have been buying up violets it appears. They really are exceptional looking cards. I know the dull and drab golds are almost as tough but the violets, especially in fairly nice shape, are striking.

Regarding the violet color... in my case I bought 2 large lots from Mastro..Nagy's and Carters...and they apparently were heavy in violet. I haven't really been that successful in finding violets elsewhere.

you are too honest. I KNOW you have what you say you have in your collection! I made the offer b/c it was a "ringer" - I KNOW that the cards listed by Daniels are gone (b/c I sold several from the listed set for him and know others who now own them) and I know he doesn't have the others he claims to have. Trust me, I love my Jacksons and should I ever let just one go, I would probably lose interest in collecting - they are NOT going anywhere!

I do have to give Quan credit for sweating this one out for me however!

Hi Scott. I wasn't jabbing you, just making a joke. I'll never have the highest gradest E94 set but it's been fun trying to get them all (master set). Frustrating, hair-pulling out, heart breaking, anxious (making sure Ms. tbob doesn't know how much I am spending on these cards), but yes, fun:-)
Will you be in Cleveland?
