1989 Upper Deck Reconsidered
I've been leafing through my albums lately, and today went through the 1989 Upper Deck. No question about it - the set was revolutionary in many ways.
But as I examined it again today, I noticed one very distinct shortcoming I never noticed before, but now won't be able to not see: a large number of images used, well more than 100 I'd guess, feature shots in which the player's features are partially or totally obscured by shadows. As soon as I began noticing it, it really struck me how great an issue it really was. Like I said, it's an important set in many ways, but as far as being very attractive, I'd now have to say that the '89 Score and Topps sets are better looking to my eye. Wondering if anyone else had noticed this? Last edited by deweyinthehall; 04-14-2021 at 03:00 PM. Reason: . |
