Really SGC? Horribly disappointing.
My cards are completely ruined. Shipped incredibly well from an auction house.

I have had several cards slide under the gasket, but fortunately mine escaped damage. My guess is they will make things right for you.

They've got to fix that floating card problem. Happens not infrequently to me. Usually I can tap them into place and I've never had a card ruined. Sorry

Your cards aren't ruined. They look pretty nice for the grade actually. Just call SGC and get them to fix the holders. It does happen too often and they probably need to address that situation. It has happened to all of us me included. Worst case is maybe one of them is 1 grade lower, if the heavy corner ding is what happened. They will make it right.....

Happens, SGC took care of these and gave me a few free slabs.

Wow, Sean, I'm really sorry this happened. SGC will make this right, but they really do need to look into their gaskets. I've had a couple T206 cards slip out like that in transit. I'm lucky they weren't damaged.
Let us know what happens.

I smell a potential lawsuit brewing. On a serious note.....I will take SGC over PSA any day of the week as far as service and prewar accuracy. If it were an SGC 84 I would better understand your frustration. The card is not ruined.

Both PSA and SGC are staffed by pesky mortals who have their good days and their bad days when it comes to subjective grading. Buy the card.....not the holder still rings true.

May I ask why you would bash SGC to start a post? Do you dislike their grading that much or is it something personal to point out their mistake to community? Only to see later in your post that issue was resolved. Don't you think that should've been your first step?
I get if it is an individual person but I don't get it when you bash the Company that grades your cards and is probably part of the lifeblood of your business or hobby. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Last edited by ezez420; 06-06-2014 at 05:54 AM. |

I had a problem not long ago with a major retailer selling me a product full of bugs. I bought a bookshelf for my son's room and things were fine for a few months. One day we noticed holes and wood dust on the shelf and I ended up finding out that it was full of wood-eating beetles. When I tried to bring it back to the store they didn't want to do anything because the purchase was over the days allowed to return. I took to social media with pictures and the story and within a day someone had contacted me willing to refund the full purchase price. I was also told that they would open an investigation into the products coming from their vendor that supplied the bookcase full of beetles. Sometimes you need to go beyond that "individual" level and get more people involved if you want to get results. I'm not bashing here. SGC is my preferred slab and I love the way the black insert looks around the card... BUT if it's not doing it's primary function, which is to protect the card, then what's the point?
