Jeff,

Your Cobbs and Honus Tip Top Bread are INSANE! As is that undergraded 1953 Mantle PSA 7. Amazing cards.

Blair,

Love that Mino Speaker! What colors. Sharp specimen!

Awesome stuff all around. What it's all about.

Ok, Steven. When my ungraded Merkle comes in, I'll scan it, and do ten. But I reserve the right for a "redo" at this time next year.

Well, for now anyway, this will suffice. I am, obviously, very early on in my pre-war collection.

I would be remiss if I didn't also include my first pre-war card, which Pete Sycks kindly gave to me to start my collection off.

I am having a great deal of fun collecting, and learning from you all. My collection will continue to grow.

Default Hey Jeff

You certainly have the quintessential Hal Chase collection. It's always a pleasure to see it.

I'm still looking for a blue Chase with a DRUM back to complete my "quintuplicate" A-B-C-C-D subset. Have you seen a blue Chase DRUM card ?

Hi Jeff,

The Chase collection is killer!!! The cards are all amazing, but the W600 and the 2 Red Cross cards especially caught my eye. Great stuff!

Cheers,
Blair

Neat idea! I love those Exhibit cards:

ca. 1925 Babe Ruth-Rogers Hornsby-Mickey Walker-Georges Carpentier:

ca. 1925-31 PC Back Exhibit Gehrig 'silhouette' variation:

1928 Exhibit PCL Earl Averill:

1920s Exhibit freaks and oddities card of Zip the pinhead:

1931 Jim Thorpe:

My cousin on a 1928 Exhibit card:

1926 Exhibit Four Marks [sic] Brothers. This is the only Marx Brothers exhibit card I have ever seen. It is from a rare set of theatrical cards. The card mentions their stage work but not their films because they had not yet made a film. The Cocoanuts was their new play on Broadway and would not be filmed until after the silent film era ended.

Cheating a bit here, as it is not a card though it is encapsulated by SGC. Advertising header for the 1921 Exhibit boxing/wrestling issue:

Another 'cheat': a checklist card for the 1951 print run of baseball exhibits:

Finally, 1932 Olympics issue of Babe Didrikson, the greatest female athlete of all time:

Default Deacon White

I'll play the player run game. Ten examples of my favorite Detroit player, Deacon White. Some of these cards I've posted a couple times, others have never been posted. They are in chronological order and all to scale except the first image which is greatly reduced from it's 16x20 imperial size (neat photo portrait w/ charcoal highlights).

Jeff

I thought I was the only one who had never seen a blue Chase with a DRUM back. And, I've been collecting Hal Chase cards (of all kinds) since 1981.
Anyhow, what are the chances of two of them surfacing ?

As you most likely would get the first one

Thanks,
