Bob Feller last career win scored program and signed ticket
I was recently able to pick up a beautifully scored program to HOF Bob Feller's last career win # 266. Feller came into this game in relief of CLE starting pitcher Herb Score and pitched the 7th and 8th inning, ultimately getting the win. The starter for the Yankees was WS Perfect Game pitcher Don Larsen. This provided an excellent complimentary piece to pair up with a ticket from the same game that I have owned for a number of years.
The ticket has some sentimental value as well, as I had Mr. Feller sign it in DET the last time my son Sam and I saw him before he passed away. Rapid Robert signed the back of the ticket with this inscription: "Bob Feller- Last career win # 266" On August 27, 1955, as previously noted, it marked the last harrah for HOF Bob Feller. Ironically on the same day, HOF Sandy Koufax recorded his 1st career win. Literally a passing of the torch for two of the greatest pitchers to ever take the mound... The photo that I have included is one of my personal favorites. It was taken before his 1st start after he returned from WWII. Last edited by Scott Garner; 03-07-2017 at 04:17 AM. |

I received my H&S winning yesterday, and scanned some of them today, lots of cool scorecards:
1968-06-07 - Ryan's 5th career win 1968-09-17 - Gaylord Perry No Hitter 1969-08-13 - Clemente 3 HR game 1971-10-03 - NLCS Game #2 - Last Mays HR as a Giant 1976-04-17 - Mike Schmidt 4 HR game And a bunch of unscored programs that I'll be looking to get rid of, one of these days. Doug |

1860s Baseball Scene
Harvard's Jarvis field 1860s baseball scene from George K. Warren's studio. Must have been a pop up as it looks like the catcher has his hands open and staring straight up in the air. For photo pick ups I wish I had a scanner because my cell phone pic of another pic doesnt do it justice.

May 10 1947 Liberty Magazine - Bob Hope Cover
Just picked up the Canadian version of this May 10, 1947 Liberty Magazine (on the left) to go with the US version I already had (on the right). Bob Hope was already a part owner of the Cleveland Indians at this point. Never knew there was a Canadian version to be had until I saw this item. Very different content, advertisers, etc. and with the US version being more than twice the page count, a different price point as well.

Sandy Koufax career strikeout milestone tickets and scorebooks
I recently picked up some terrific tickets and scorebooks to HOF Sandy Koufax's major milestone strikeout games. They really are an ideal fit to my collection related to power pitching.
These all came from the personal collection of long-time Koufax collector and close hobby friend Phil Paul. After 30 years of collecting, Phil has decided to part with some of his favorite items related to Sandy Koufax's career. He is a regular contributor on net54 and goes by koufax1fan. If you don't know Phil, he is truly one of the great guys in the hobby. Consider reaching out to Phil directly as he still has more excellent items related to the great Sandy Koufax's career. A few of the items that I would like to share are: A full, unused ticket to Sandy Koufax's NL leading single-season strikeout record of 382 K's. Only one pitcher ever got more strikeouts in the Modern Era and that was the great Nolan Ryan when he broke Sandy's record in 1973 with 383 K's. I've never seen another full ticket to Sandy's 382 K game, which ironically was also the 2nd to last game of the Milwaukee Braves franchise before becoming the Atlanta Braves in 1966. A nice ticket stub to Sandy's single game K record of 18 K's on August 31, 1959 at LA, which at the time tied him with fellow HOF pitcher Bob Gibson for the ML record. This was the 1st of two times that Sandy recorded 18 K's in a game. A beautifully scored program, ticket, official press notes and newspaper clippings from Sandy's 2nd 18 K game on April 24th, 1962 at Wrigley Field. Awesome mini-collection from the lucky fan that witnessed his gem! Last edited by Scott Garner; 04-24-2017 at 11:20 AM. |

I'm jealous. Taking a closer look at that program, I just realized that I have other Cubs scorecards scored by the same person. Doug Last edited by doug.goodman; 03-13-2017 at 06:04 PM. |

Am wondering if any of the experts on this forum can shed light on this Hank Aaron postcard.
The seller noted it as a "real photo postcard." I'm interested to know if this is a photo you've seen before or more likely something a photographer took and made into a postcard. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Easily the ugliest piece in my collection, but one of my faves: Lou Brissie's protective leg cover when he pitched in the majors. For those of you who don't know his amazing story, he nearly got his leg blown off in WWII, yet came back to pitch in the majors with his leg MacGyvered back together.

Love the stuff guys!
Mike, that fob is killer! Haven't seen that one before. Here are a few pickups from the last little while.... The first is just a generic 1910 era cabinet, but I had to have it. If you notice, his jersey says "Norwood", which is the area in Winnipeg that my mother spent a good part of her youth in during the 1950s. Norwood also borders St Boniface, which my family had lived in since 1880. |

The second piece is a baseball trophy awarded to Stuart Sheppard for the highest individual fielding average for 1918 in the WABA.

The next item is hockey related, as anyone who know me is aware I mostly collect antique hockey. It's a cabinet photo from 1907 that shows a player wearing a hockey pin, one that I think originates from a rare series issued in 1904, of which I have a pair. Two other are known (I'm trying to make a deal for one of them) with the other selling at auction years ago. The pins are dated '04 on the reverse, and my question is, is it the same type of pin?? You can even see the end of the protruding pinback in the photo... What do you think? I'd love to hear the opinion of others...
