Default What an auction !

Working around Reading PA, Denver PA drove past a huge flashing sign - Auction today..stopped in at my lunch hour....it was a company called Morphy Auctions

never heard of them, but they are pretty big I guess

The live auction going on was all firearms, knives, etc...

Wow these things go for huge money ! Winchester rifles 6/7/8 $ grand !

guys bidding like crazy...I said to myself you guys are nuts, you should spend you money on little cardboard photos ..of " men you've never met " !!

I got caught up in it, and purchased a can of soda and watched !

I found it odd, a major auction like this taking place on a Thursday morning/afternoon....

and the display cases filled with stuff for upcoming Sports collectables auction at end of month...incredibly cool stuff unopened rack packs or early 60s, old vintage bobbleheads, old uniforms, Babe Ruth stuff, very impressive

The only thing he owns in this thread is his now empty soda can. Auction Used!!!

Can we get a picture? If it's as nice as he described, I'll bid.

This thread probably should have been in this, the watercooler section, in the first place. Could have almost been on the front page too.

Ralph- be careful where you put threads in the future.. The Live Auction section is for things being sold not to talk about live auctions.....thanks

Was the gentleman really that clueless or did he just like messing with people running legitimate auctions?

Agreed! I never said not two words to the guy, but I'm just now going back and reading the posts he put up. This guy really did add nothing of value to any coversation and always just seemed to stir the pot wherever he went. The sad thing is, this board is actually great and is VERY lenient on the rules. But come on...talking about an auction in the live auction thread where people are actually selling stuff. Only a moron would do that. That would be like me going to the main board and talking about how terrible Time Warner is as a company. People would read the thread, and I'm sure some would agree, but most would be like WTF is he talking about. This is a cardboard thread and he is talking about Time Warner. There is a "water-cooler" thread for such random postings. All he had to do was use an OUNCE of common sense. He couldn't even handle that.

I'm glad he's gone. The guy thought the BST section was a joke...
