I own just this one. I had another of the same player for a brief period and thus owned half the population.

I once (gulp) held a beautiful Clark Griffith batting PSA 7 Drum back. Long gone now(sigh).

I used to own the Vic Willis that a previous owner lovingly reworked the top edge. Not the prettiest card in the world, but it was for sure the only Drum HOFer I could afford. Managed to get it for $300 in 2007 or 2008.

I would love to have him back and think I sold it to a board member in 2011or so.

Thanks,
Bob

The t206resource.com site has Taylor as confirmed for the Drum back. Neither PSA nor SGC seem to have graded any examples.

Good Luck!

None,

saw one at a show years ago, could afford it, but it would have meant buying one card in the first few minutes and going home.

Went back a fairly short time later and it was already sold.

Now they're all in the unaffordable category.

Fortunately I do own one. I would love to own more but when they do surface if you want one you need to be all in... Drum aren't cheap.

I have only owned one. I was lucky enough to find it at an antique mall at a great price along with 2 other T206 cards. I paid just over $100 for all 3 cards.

It didn't fit into what I was collecting so I sold the card through LOTG Auctions (Al was great to work with!)

It was cool to have a Drum back in my possession for a short time!

Scott, congrats, helluva ROI! Yes, Al is top shelf.

I've probably owned about a half dozen Drums over the last 30 years. Don't let the fact that a ton have come to auction recently make you think they aren't rare (a master set builder is liquidating), they are very rare...I've owned this Hofman for years, and my son and I are currently working on a small back run for it...

That's a great one, Luke. It seems a lot have come to auction lately. Don't own any now but have owned a few over the years.

(not a bad one either, Jay)

Have been looking for a Davidson for years to complete the back run. i think four have been graded. It's gotten to the point i'm not sure I could rationalize it even if one popped up.

What are the graded populations of Drum vs Broad Leaf 460?

My data is really stale now, but is something like:

Broad Leaf 460 - 100ish total graded...28 card checklist

Drum - 250ish total graded...150ish card checklist

So on average, each individual Drum combo is more scarce (on average less than 2 per checklisted card), but bc the BL460 checklist is so small, finding any example of a BL460 will be tougher (even tho more than 3 per checklisted card).

Default Drummy

I remember some 15+ years ago at one of the card shows, common w/Drum back, midgrade, decent looking – seller was asking $300.

My initial thought was “.. ha, yeah, he’ll never get that”

They should’ve handed me one of these trophies when I left

I have owned a few Drums in the past but don't have any now....
