This could be answered in a number of ways but i'll limit it to just two...
a) Favorite organized team ever: for me this is..1919 Chicago White Sox.

b) Favorite collected fantasy team. For me this is more than just putting my favorite players on the team at the same time...it's about building a team.... anyone can be the yankees and build a team with 8 50 HR guys ... but i wanted a team with power, speed, defense and all the works. There is no real criteria..but here's a chance to have fun with an idea.

Here are the rules:
a) you have to play the player at the position they are known for...ie..Jackie is at 2b..not 3b ... those of you that want to put horsnby on your team really should use him at 2b!
b) Outfielders can be messed with a little bit... as you'll see with my team.
c) You have to create a batting order.
d) You get one Bench player - that's it .. one ... just one..this is to put your favorite player on your team if you don't really have a place for him...for example, i love clemente...so he takes my bench position.
e) RUTH RULE: NO USING PLAYERS 2X - RUTH IS EITHER A PITCHER OR A HITTER, although i felt this was already covered by rule A.
f) You get 4 Pitchers - 1 LEFT HANDED START 1 RIGHT HANDED STARTER 1 UTILITY STARTER and 1 CLOSER - A closer is going to be someone like Lee Smith... yes i know thtat closers weren't really around 40 years ago, but just deal with it...dem da rules...

C- Josh Gibson
1B- Greenberg
2B- Jackie Robinson
3B- Eddie Matthews
SS- H Wagner (wanted arky vaughn, but how can you pass up hans)
RF- Hank Aaron
CF- Billy Hamilton
LF- Shoeless Joe Jackson
BN- Clemente

RHP- Walter Johnson (#1)
LHP- Koufax (#2)
UTP- Spahn (#3)
RP- Eckersley

Batting Order:
1st - Hamilton
2nd - Robinson
3rd - Jackson
4th - Aaron
5th - Greenberg
6th - Matthews
7th - Greenberg
8th - Wagner
9th - Pitcher

My favorite team.... 1982 St. Louis Cardinals.

I can come up with a pretty good Cardinal only all time team.

1B - Hernandez
2B - Hornsby
SS - Ozzie Smith
3B - Ken Boyer
C - Ted Simmons
OF - Lou Brock
OF - Stan the Man
OF - Joe Medwick

RHP - Gibson
LHP - Carlton
RELIEF ACE - Sutter

BENCH - A cast of 20 or more Hall of Famers so I'll pick Pepper Martin.

You could come up with almost another whole team of Cardinal Hall of Famers as well.

My favorite team(s) would be the Pirates from 1990-92 among teams i watched and probably the 1933 Pirates who had 5 future hall of famers among their regular starters, and Waite Hoyt on the mound as well as some other semi-star players from the past.

My favorite lineup would be

of- Billy Hamilton
ss-Honus Wagner
of-Willie Mays
of-Babe Ruth
1b-Willie Stargell
dh/util.-Barry Bonds
c-Carlton Fisk
3b-Pie Traynor
2b-Bobby Grich

rp-Walter Johnson
lp-Wilbur Cooper
p- Larry Corcoran
rp-Kent Tekulve

Its very different from my all-time greatest team but if i could put my own team together of players i like and want to see than these are the guys.Had to pick Wilbur Cooper for the lefty since hes the only Pirates pitcher with other 200 wins in a Pittsburgh uniform and i couldnt have only 5 Bucs on my team

Lite team: Singles and low power guys:

1B: Mark Grace
2B: Nellie Fox
SS: Luis Aparicio
3B: Pete Rose
C: Mike Sciosia
RF: Lou Brock
CF: Richie Ashburn
LF: Curt Flood
P: Who cares...

Heavy team: Fat guys--doesn't mean they can't play, just can't win any body building contests.
C: Smoky Burgess (Someone's fat uncle the pipe-fitter)
1B: John Kruk (looked like he should be playing in a beer league)
2B: Hornsby (best of a weak field; known for downing huge amounts of red meat and sleeping prodigiously)
3B: ? I can't think of any; maybe Appling when he got old?
SS: Wagner
RF: Ruth (ballooned up nicely in the later years)
CF: Fatty Fothergill (for the nickname alone)
LF: Tony Gwynn (must've been eating at Roberto's too much; S.D. Mexican chain)
P: Wilbur Wood (pudgy fat)
P: Mickey Lolich (pitched better as he gained weight)
P: David Wells (anyone who retorts to comments about his weight by saying he never saw anyone on the DL with pulled fat has to be on the list)

In regards to Terry Forster....

He holds the record for highest batting average career all time for players with more than 500 games played....

Although Mike Stanton may get that record if he doesn't have a couple of 0 for 2 seasons.
