After the depression decimated the A's team, one can only imagine the agony Mack must have gone through, to sell Jimmie to the Sox. He hung on to him as long as he could, and I believe he was the last player to be traded, from the great series teams. At least he didn't sell him to the Yankees. Sheeesh...that would have been something. Anyone know if the Yankees were trying to get Jimmie ? And if not, why? They certainly had the dough. |
