I collect White Sox cards, so the holy grail I don't already have is probably a Joe Jackson E90-1 in medium or high grade. I'm also working on the '53 bowman color set and have the Pee Wee Reese in a nearly perfectly centered PSA 6.5. I guess that's the holy grail that I already own.

OK... I'll play.

Wagner's rookie card has long been my dream card (or holy grail, if you prefer). It isn't in dream condition, but being that only 4 have been graded, it isn't exactly the most common card to find. So, I'll definitely take it!

Default My holy grail...

...is really my collection of signed T206 cards. It is really difficult to pick just one or two out of this group:

My mission/obsession is to find a team photo for each team Jim O'Rourke played on. Please post or email me if you can help with these remaining 7 teams.

I guess this is mine, tied with a couple of others (or more), my w517 that looks just like this later graded as PSA 5.

Sorry for my ignorance about this Wagner card but how much is the value of a card like that ?

Thanks -- they are more amazing all together without all that plastic surrounding them. T206 cards are a lot more fun to look at all together like they were found in nature! But the perils of the hobby -- especially when dealing with autographed cards -- just about require reputable TPG/TPA.

Thanks again!

Paul

Probably not the holy grail of my collection, but hold a special place since I actually pulled the cards from packs when I was a kid.

Really cool you still own this heirloom from your dad. That is the cleanest best looking 3 52' Mantle I have ever seen. If it weren't for the protection the case provides, I would remove it and make it raw again. (That grade is a slap in The Mick's face)

I have always wanted this card when I was pulling the reprints out of 1989
Bowman packs. Now I have a real one with zero plans of ever parting with it.

Not my "holy grail" per se as it's existence was unknown until somewhat recently...but probably my most unique card.

Sorry guys--still don't have a flat scanner (very tough times for Michigan attorneys right now, and wife lost a six-figure job over 2 years ago), but mine would most likely be a three-way tie: (1) 1907 Dietsch Ty Cobb, fielding pose, PSA 5; (2) 1923 Lections Babe Ruth SGC poor; and (3) 1931-32 Exhibits Babe Ruth, from the movie stars/actresses set (one of just three PSA graded, last time I checked, and the highest graded: PSA 5). And maybe, just maybe, my 1955 Exhibit Post-card back Mantle, SGC EX+, with the legend "Made in USA" at the bottom, meaning it was originally issued during the 1951-1953 time period (and subsequently reissued, per the Standard Catalog) is inching its way into that group.

Thanks for reading, even without the scans!

May all your collecting days bring great joy, connecting you to the player, and taking you back to the time!

Larry

Nice picks, Larry. I've always liked the look & rarity of the Lections cards, so I did a quick search for the Ruth. A few examples showed up in my search. Here's one, which might be your card (not many exist, obviously). You may not have a scanner, but scans of your cards might be out there.

Thank you very much, Chuck. I believe that is my card, without pulling it out of the safe deposit box to make sure. Part of its attractiveness to me is that it represents the Yankee's very first World Series championship, was the year that the "House that Ruth Built" came into existence, and was the year of the Babe's highest batting average, .393 (along with 41 homers and a rather astounding .545 on-base percentage, going by memory).

Best always,

Larry
