Default Marked Cards

I started building a 1966 set completely of Marked cards. In that vain, I find these cards can be interesting as they can show a good bit of history, creativity, disgust and humor.
I have started a Facebook group for Marked Vintage Sports Cards. The purpose isn't really for making large profits, although you can sell cards on there. If anyone would like to join, here is the link.

Cool idea of an all marked set...and 66, that will be a fun challenge, one of my favorite sets. I have spent a lot of time continually upgrading my 66 set and when I put it together I had lots of doubles...your post sparked a memory that I did have a uniquely marked 66...went to my doubles binder and there it is. Quite frankly I think the "artist" made ol Jim Perry look better... Maybe more Frank Zappa with a buzz cut...but pretty funny.

If you need this for your marked set PM me your address and I will ship it over to you.

Love it. I wound up with about 300 marked cards from 1966 all from the same kid. They have classic commentaries such as "Throws a Palm Ball" or "Hit a grand slam and the date". I couldn't bear to get rid of them as they are too good. If I ever get around to upgrading that damned Grant Jackson card, I'll have one that is marked as well.
Also have a bunch of cards from another kid (throughout the 60s) where the kid put eye black on all of the players. It looks real also. Pretty cool also.

Default So I have a question...

If you take a card that isn't marked in any way per your collecting parameter and then mark it - would it be considered altered?

I am actively buying and selling vintage sports cards graded and raw. Feedback as a buyer: https://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=297262

I am accepting select private consignments of quality vintage cards (raw or graded) and collecting "want" lists for higher end ($1K+) vintage cards.

Funny story today...was working with the same person I had a few months ago bought a lot of 55 Bowmans where a majority of the cards had their uniform number written on the front of the card by the kid who got them back in the 50's...love em...

So...I was digging through his 65's when I came across a stack of 66s...I quickly gave them a run through...and found a dozen "marked" 66s! I pulled them out and said I know a guy trying to put together an entire set...how much? "That guy is crazy...love it...he can have em!"

I walked away with another complete 63 Fleer set, a 150 65s in EXMT, about 70 1970 high numbers that are NM...spattering of random 60s stars...and I think I was more excited to get these free 66s and share here! HAHAHA...

Jay...don't know if you need em but they are yours none the less...will ship them Monday....cards #6, 10, 14, 22, 26, 27, 332, 389, 406, 423, 428, 439

Hey Jay,

I love a good marked card. Here's one of my favorites in my collection right now.
