Default Cracker Jack Cicotte - Is it Fake?

Posted By: Paul

I've been trying to find a Cracker Jack Cicotte for awhile. There's one on ebay looks fake to me. It is item number 1828450584. (Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out how to post a link or a picture here). Do you agree it's fake?

I agree it's a fake. The borders are too white. Also, the white in the photo should be the same as the white in the borders.

Default Cracker Jack Cicotte - Is it Fake?

Paul --

The card is not an original. The borders are too white, the inside picture has been cropped, the contrast is too vivid, the separation between the white of the inner and outer pictures is too great (particularly at the bottom) and the silly reprint has even been trimmed on one edge so that the outer borders don't appear too wide. I would estimate the value to be approximately one cent.

Best regards,
Michael

it differed from the one pictured in the ways Elliot and MW indicated. Great card--I mean, the real one.
