Default 1953 Bowman Color Lot of 55 diff Musial, Reese, Snider, Campy

I am considering selling my 1953 Bowman Color partial set so that I can put those funds into my new T206 addiction. I have 55 different cards - 12 are graded. The set is a very consistent VG/EX to EX throughout with attention to centering. Every card is very well centered. You will not find a better centered group.

Graded cards include:
10 Richie Ashburn PSA 5
13 Gus Zernail SGC 60
22 Bob Porterfield SGC 60
32 Stan Musial SGC 70
33 Pee Wee Reese SGC 50
49 Roy Campanella SGC 60
50 Lou Kretlow SGC 50
51 Monte Irvin SGC 60
58 Willard Marshall SGC 60
97 Eddie Mathews SGCC 50
99 Warren Spahn SGC 60
117 Duke Snider SGC 60

Raw cards include: 1 (Williams), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 29, 31, 34, 35, 36 (Irvin), 37, 38, 49, 52, 53, 56, 57 (Boudreau), 63 (McDougald), 68, 70, 75, 79, 88, 91, 94, 107, 111, 149, 159

Other scans available upon request. I will entertain serious offers. I will also trade for graded T206s. I have no interest in breaking up the group. Thank you!

All I have to say is wow, nice nice cards. it's tough finding this kind of centering on 7's and 8's. If for some reason, you do not break them up, I would be interested but I have a feeling you will get takers for the lot especially if the others are like the scans. Regards, Michael

Guys,

Thanks for the nice comments. I have received a few emails and PMs and will be returning those by noon today. I just got busy at work yesterday and didn't get a chance. Thank you!

I have had several PMs and emails and I think I have answered them all. I thought I would post the same thing here however, just in case I missed somebody. I sent the same message to all and here it is:

I don’t have a current copy of the SMR so the prices on the graded cards may not be correct (but I think they’re pretty close). I am also using a price guide that is 2 years old to price the raw cards. Also, there were a couple of cards (as noted below) that I had to guess at. Therefore, if my prices aren’t accurate, please let me know and I will adjust them.

Graded cards include:
10 Richie Ashburn PSA 5 $70
13 Gus Zernail SGC 60 $20
22 Bob Porterfield SGC 60 $20
32 Stan Musial SGC 70 $350 – that is a guess. SMR doesn’t list a 5.5
33 Pee Wee Reese SGC 50 $250 – that is a guess. SMR doesn’t list a 4
46 Roy Campanella SGC 60 $160
50 Lou Kretlow SGC 50 $20
51 Monte Irvin SGC 60 $55
58 Willard Marshall SGC 60 $20
97 Eddie Mathews SGC 50 $85 – that is a guess. SMR doesn’t list a 4.
99 Warren Spahn SGC 60 $145
117 Duke Snider SGC 60 $325

Raw stars include:
1 Davey Williams $175
36 Minnie Minoso $80
57 Lou Boudreau $80
63 Gil McDougald $80

39 Raw commons include: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 17, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 29, 31, 34, 35, 37, 38, 49, 52, 53, 56, 68, 70, 75, 79, 88, 91, 94, 107, 111, 149, 159 @ $40/each = $1560

Here’s what I want to get for them: 35% of book for the raw cards (stars and commons) and 70% of book for the graded cards. Here is how it works out:

Raw stars $415 @ 35% of book = $145
Raw Commons $1560 @ 35% of book = $546
Graded cards $1520 @ 70% of book = $1064

TOTAL $1755

Let’s just round it down and just make it $1700 even and I’ll cover the shipping. That gets you about 34% of the set. That is my absolute lowest price. I am sending this same PM to all those who responded. The offer applies to all so it will be on a first come, first served basis. Thank you for your interest.

David

Edited to include addtional scans
