Just wanted to introduce myself.....

I collected cards in the mid 70's to about 91 or so. I just stored them all for the last 20+ years. Don't know how many I have, maybe 10 to 15,000 I guess.

I was a big Phillies fan as a kid and M.Schmidt was my favorite player. I have a rookie card of him and it's in good condition. I figured that I wanted to get a Mint card. And started to look. Now keep in mind that I never heard of PSA and all of the grading company's etc. When I looked I was shocked at the value. I figured it would cost me maybe $500 or so for the card.

I really know nothing about collecting nowadays. It's all so new to me. I am so impressed with what I have seen from all of you. It's amazing.

I am on the lookout for a 1973 M.Schmidt rookie PSA 9, or SGC equal. (I believe those are the two most respected).

Thank you, and take care.

Welcome to the fray....it only gets better as you follow the path. We do have a post-war side of the forum that gets quite a bit of activity as well as a very popular place to buy, sell and trade cards.. Good luck in the hunt!! ..take care

Default Welcome....

and may I suggest you try on a T206 for size....

Pick up a beater T206 for $ 20.00 on the B/S/T section .....pre war cards...1909-1911 T206.....there are 520 to the set
(minus a few very expensive ones)....these are really cool cards and were pulled out of various tobacco packs/brands back in 1909-1911.. and a lot of us members here collect them....I will help you with any purchases, just email, or pm me...

Peace

Johnny V

Maybe pick up a couple Phillies. Most of them are common, so they're not very expensive. Just don't try for some guy named Magie, at least not right away.
