Default 1972 Topps Complete Set for Trade!! (scan heavy)

Over the years, I've put together two complete 1972 sets and man it was tough!! I'm obsessed with that year because Willie Mays came to my Mets and it was the first time my brothers and I started laying down our dimes and nickels to buy baseball cards at the stationery store a half hour walk away.

Well, that's neither here nor there, but today I have a pretty nice 1972 Topps complete set for trade. 787 cards in all their trippy, colorful, Grateful Dead looking splendor.

I've scanned all 88 pages that comprise the set into my bucket. I had a day off and spent every minute of it night and day sitting in front of that frickin' scanner, so definitely check it out as you can see every card in the set:

Here are a few scans to tide you over...

The good: overall this complete set is in pretty nice shape, and especially the high numbers. Every single card is here and you'd be quite happy to have it. Look through the scans and see what you think.

The bad: there's a few cards with creases, wrinkles and other problems. In other words, a few dogs that need to be upgraded. The worst crease is on the Ed Kranepool card. I'm hitting a show on the 20th, so hopefully I can get some quality upgrades. And, as usual, the centering is all over the place across this set, but I am gradually upgrading those o/c cards as well.

The ugly: There's a handful of cards in the 500's that have the card number underlined. I don't know who did this or why, but I'm going to see which of these I can quickly upgrade as well. (I've been able to switch out some already and I'll make a list of which ones remain for anyone who's interested.) It's even more of a shame, because many of the marked cards are in exceptional shape! Here's what they look like...

Now, what am I looking for in return for this complete set? I'm open to hear what you have, but I'm definitely not looking to give it away. I want to get something thrilling in return that will make it worth my time.

My collection runs from 1957 to 1979 with all of those years (Topps sets) either completed or partially upgraded, so I don't need anything in that vein. The exception is the 1958 set, where I do still need the vast majority of cards. I also need a nice Pete Rose rookie, Brooks Robinson rookie, Bob Gibson rookie, and, of course, a Tom Seaver rookie. I am very interested in 1964 stand-ups, especially HOF'ers, and upgrades of 50's and 60's stars. Beyond that, I'm pretty open.

I'll be happy to answer any and all questions you may have.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Overpaying yesterday is simply underpaying tomorrow.

Bump. I went to a local card shop yesterday and bought almost 50 cards to upgrade this set a little bit. Most of them were centered significantly better than what I had. Scans of the entire set have been updated. Take a look through the link above.

If by chance you have extras of any/all of these, please let me know:

695 Carew, 741 AL/NL Rookies (common), 751 Carlton

They are the last three I need to complete the decade of the '70s in Topps baseball.

Thanks
Ted
