Default B & L Auctions Live

Even though there aren't any E105s, this looks to be another great auction.

Thanks for the positive responses, we feel this is one of our stronger auctions. The opening bids can be deceiving, most are very low for the end value of the item and there are NO reserves hidden or otherwise, there are some very low pop and scarce/rare cards in this auction. Every lot will sell for the minimum bid or whatever level it attains.

And yes that 52 Topps Mays is super nice for the grade, as are many of the other PSA and SGC cards in this auction. Most come from collectors that bought them for eye appeal, centered with nice color, not dealers looking to flip low end cards that barely made it into a holder.

Anyone can still register at www.b-lauctions.com and have 12 days in which to bid.

Scott

Default -weird -- I can't watch

Is anyone else having this problem w/ the B&L site? I am not getting a "Watch This Lot" button ever after (apparently) logging in successfully? Scott, Leon - any ideas?

Thx,

Tim: I have a similar problem. Just by virtue of opening the auction item it automatically puts it in my "Watched Lots" list.

I can see the "watch this lot" button. Others have had a problem with clicking on a lot and it being added to their list without clicking it. The S/W provider thought they had this corrected. Please bear with us and we will sort it out. It appears it "may" be a function of different browsers. What are you guys using?

So in the last few minutes we have been in touch with our s/w and hosting company. Are all of these last reported issues very current, such as in the last 3 hours? The reason I ask is that there were a few things addressed earlier today. thanks all...

I think i was the first to report this to Leon this morning...still having the same problem on my Mac (Safari) at home now, and on my PC (Internet Explorer, i believe) at work. This happened with another auction house recently, forgot which one.

The first time you log in and open a few lots, no issues...once you hit the watchlist button on one item, every other lot you open automatically gets put into your watchlist...software glitch for sure. It's minor, not a big deal.

Good looking auction!

With Firefox. Thanks guys.

Actually, I am seeing (as of 12:30 CDT) the same as others have reported -- everything I click on goes automatically into "Watching." I can live with that, though.

Looks like that's all I'll be doing anyway is watching; that M101-6 Alexander is already pricey on Day 1

Default Auction Ends Tonight

Brockelman & Luckey's Fall 2013 Auction ends TONIGHT!

Preliminary bidding will end at 10:00 p.m. EST on Saturday September 21st. At this time any lots with either no bids or only 1 bid will end, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL 10:01 to bid on these lots! The rest of the lots with 2 or more bids will enter into extended bidding periods of 30 minutes on each lot individually. If no bids are received at the end of the first 30 minutes the lot will close. Lots receiving active bidding will remain open until no bid is received after each 30 minute extension from a prior bid. We do not expect nor do we want this to be an all night affair, nor do the bidders, from the feedback we have been given. Most lots will close with 1-2 hours of the end time. As always placing maximum or "up to" bids is encouraged, as this may enable you to win an item in the event you are not available for the extended bidding. Please remember you DO NOT have to bid on an item prior to the extended bidding, As long as a lot is still open ANYONE may bid on it.

Nearly 600 lots of sets, singles and group lots, one of the few places you can still get starter lots and low priced singles sold individually, raw and graded!

There is still time to register and get approved. Go to www.b-lauctions.com and click on Register

I actually loved that it automatically put it on my watchlist. I can't think of another auction site that has that feature, and it saved me some time. Perhaps it could be changed to a preference?

So a quick update. Our s/w folks looked at the issue and couldn't replicate it. We hope it was an isolated incident and believe it was, after the fix earlier. As for changing stuff, We certainly don't want to be messing with the auction structure on closing night but we will discuss having this automatic watch feature, if it's doable, in the future.

And we like our closing method this evening, with each lot individually closing with a 30 minute rule, and all lots open to everyone until they close.

Default important notes

Please note that the initial bidding ends at 10:00 p.m. EST

All lots with either no bids or only one bid will end at that time, they will NOT be a part of the extended bidding. All lots with two or more bids will remain open for 30 minutes, if no further bids are received then they will close at 10:30. Each time a lot does receive a bid it will be extended for another 30 minutes.

DO NOT wait until 10:00 EST to start bidding on unopened lots or lots with only one bid if you have an interest in them, you will have to place a bid prior to 10:00 to keep them open for extended bidding.

Once we do enter extended bidding, you are eligible to bid on ANY lot, even if you have not bid on it prior, as long as the lot is still open.

Scott

IMHO I don't like the lots closing individually. As a buyer, if I see I'm not going to win an auction I was hoping to, I start looking for others to jump on. But when they all end individually, it's quite a bummer to not have that chance if one has ended. And as a consignor, I would lose out on those buyers "hungry" to get at least something from the auction. Oh well.....just my two cents.

Was able to get this T201. someone marked on the back, but it still displays nicely...

FWIW, I like the "lots close individually" format, but the other formats are okay too.

I won a few nice items including some Anon/Broadleaf t207s and these two cards - a gorgeous e103 Bender and a t213-3 Marquard missing the caption and a color pass or two....

Thought the prices were pretty reasonable and I was able to score a couple nice deals. Thanks Leon and Scott for another successful auction!

Agreed. I picked up a couple of items. Leon was right though... he told me it would be addictive. Another tip: don't auction while drinking.

Picked up these b/c they fit my T206 portrait needs and they're pretty cool.

And I picked this up b/c no one else bid on it and I like the look. I think I might get a mat and frame for it and hang it in my office.

Also, I really like that Marquard.

Happy to scratch this one off the want list. Love everything about it. The pose; he kind of looks like a vampire and its the closet I'll get to his T206. The colors; not many cards out there with pink shirts.

Thanks for the wonderful auction.

Default Brown typing T207

Jack, what is brown typing T207? I have not heard of that one.

Very nice T213-3. Wanted to bid on that one too. Ended up with another photo card..

Brown Ink back instead of the normal black. I've only seen a few of them, most of them from this thread

The one in the auction is one of the stronger brown inks I've seen

Default T207 brown ink

Very cool. Thanks for the explanation. I had not heard of those before. Kind of like T206 Old Mill backs. Great grab.

Thanks for the wonderful auction.
Great pickup. I have always loved the Plank card from the M116 set because of its resemblance to the iconic T206 card.

Default Odds & Ends

I threw in some low ball bids and won a few items. Grabbed the cdv for my pre 1880's sports collection. Not sure if I will keep or sell the other items.

Default nice auction

Won two small lots. Really like the format of ending the auctions individually.

Best regards,

Joe
