Default The POOR CATCHER who had to WEAR THIS

I bought this along with a really old mitt, mask, some baseballs etc....long story short it was in an old antique immigrant trunk - the trunk was tied shut at the auction - a guy I knew bought the antique trunk, got home and found out it was full of baseball stuff - which he proceeded to call me and sell to me.....

Regardless this is the most CRUDE homemade folk looking chest protector I have ever seen - just look at the big ole hand bent hooks on the leather - etc etc..... I just cant believe someone used this thing!!!! I thought some of you might enjoy seeing it

Default game used

this looks to me to be from the middle Paleolithic era.
thanks for sharing this interesting and unusual find.
I see why bresnahan decided to 'invent' those shin guards.

all the best,
barry
