Smile Starting a Reverse Negative Error Blog

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I just wanted anyone who is interested know that I am starting a blog on reverse negative error cards. They've been my favorite type of card since I was a kid. I have been researching them for years and years and I have found tons that are unlisted, across all years, sets, and sports. I'll be posting on the most well known ones first then more obscure ones as time progresses.

The url is http://revneg.blogspot.com/

Really hope you enjoy it and also I'm happy to have found this forum. So many cool cards that I never knew about!

Thanks

Welcome to the boards! Great topic you bring up. I am a Dodgers collector and one reversed negative that comes to mind is the 1976 Hostess Ron Cey. It is listed in the SCD as an unissued proof but I've never seen an example of one. If you have one or know where I can get one I would love to own an example.

Hey thanks! I have seen that Cey listing, and like you, I have never seen a scan or example of it. Most of the ones that I know about but haven't seen are either proofs or rare team issued cards. I was actually thrilled to find the post on here with an example of the 1980 Topps Pepsi Guidry reverse; never thought it would actually appear.

Nice, never noticed that one! I find the hardest ones to determine are cards with a just a close up of the face and/or a hat with a symmetrical letter like M where it looks the same reversed as it does correct. It's impossible to say with those unless you have previously seen the pic shown in the opposite direction, as in the case with this 1964 Aaron.

Here's one you might be able to add to your list. I have read before that Topps purposely used a reverse negative on this card because Alou was trying to fool the photographer by posing as a left handed batter, so they "corrected" it by reversing the photo.

you could throw in the 82 lee smith? not necessarily reverse negative but the cubs logo is upside down and backwards. pretty close in definition....

also, unlike the murphy and other rev neg, the corrected version is substantially rarer

Sorry, just saw your post a month late! I love that Smith error, and have considered including reversed logos in the blog. The Packers set in 1961 Fleer also had a reversed logo for all of the players.
