Default 1906 Cubs, White Sox & Browns Original Photographs**ALL SOLD**

Here are several photos taken by a Chicago sportswriter in 1906 that were once in his personal scrapbook. Some of the photos were used in the Chicago newspaper he worked for and included with the photo is the exact same image with the original news clipping that was in the scrapbook.

The person I got these photos from removed them from the scrapbook and they had notations on the scrapbook page of who the player was and the year. That information was copied to the back of the photo by the person I got these from. That person then also mounted these photos with double-sided tape to a piece of posterboard but I was able to remove them. All the photos were taken in 1906 at either West Side Park or South Side Park depending on the league the player was from. 1906 of course was a magical year in Chicago resulting in the White Sox beating the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. The back of the photos exhibit being in a scrapbook for the first 90 years of their existence and them taped to a pieces of posterboard for the past 20 years.

Harry Steinfeldt – 5.5 inches by 3.25 inches of the Chicago Cubs 3rd baseman. Nothing written on the back of this one but Includes newspaper image of the same photo. Newspaper clipping has scrapbook paper on back and remnant of some type of program. Price $**SOLD**

South Side Park – 5.5 inches by 2.75 inches is this view of where the White Sox played prior to the building of Comiskey Park in 1910. Several spots of surface loss to the photo towards the bottom of the photo as shown in scan. Still a rare image of the early home of the White Sox in their World Championship year. Back has notation “White Sox Grounds 1906”. Price $**SOLD**

Ernest “Rube” Vinson – Chicago White Sox. Photograph part measures almost 5.5 inches by 3.25 inches. Small part of scrapbook page at bottom with his name. Vinson only played in 64 career games. He was with Cleveland in 1904 and 1905 and then with the White Sox in 1906 which was his final season. However he only played in 10 games in 1906 and his final game was in May. Still attached to scrapbook paper and an additional non-baseball photo is on the back. Taken at South Side Park as the signage in the background matches up to the image of the field I am also offering for sale. Can’t be too many images of him out there given his short playing career. See newspaper photo in images below that also features O’Neil. First person to purchase either one of those pictures gets the newspaper photo. Price $**SOLD**

William John O’Neil – Chicago White Sox. Measures almost 5.75 inches by 3.25 inches. Only played for the White Sox in 1906 which was his final season. Written on the back is John “Tip” O’Neil, Fielder, Sox and 1906 which was likely written on scrapbook page and then written on back of photo by previous owner. Taken at South Side Park as the signage in the background matches up to the image of the field I am also offering for sale. See newspaper photo in images below that also features Vinson. First person to purchase either one of those pictures gets the newspaper photo. Price $**SOLD**

George Stone – St. Louis Browns. 5.5 inches by 3.25 inches. Written on back is Stone – right fielder St. Louis Browns 1906 – Stone led the American League in batting average in 1906 hitting .358. Included is newspaper clipping showing the same photo. Price $**SOLD**

Bobby Wallace – St. Louis Browns. A little smaller image then the others at 3.75 inches by 3.25 inches. Great image of HOFer. No notation on the back but the prior owner created a label transcribed from the scrapbook page that said “Wallace – Shortstop” This label was put on the posterboard. Same background as the Stone picture. Price $**SOLD**
