Default did i get duped?

Posted By: Derek

Hey everyone. I thought I was getting a deal on this, so I bid without looking closely. The seller has sold the same card 3 times (including to me). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5177457017&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:US:6 How should I proceed? I am pretty sure that if I send a money order, I will get nothing in return.

Confront the seller about it. If he doesnt have a good explanation, tell him you will cancel the money order. Then cancel the money order

Here's one of the earlier sales. Same card.

Don't pay.

This guy has a 90% feedback rating. Don't buy anything from anyone with less than a 99% rating.

My guess is that he won his own auctions by shill bidding and either forgot to shill this last one or gave up.

Thanks everyone for confirming what I thought..I acted too quickly without thinking. Tbob, that is good advice...i just didnt look in the heat of the less-than-one-minute left bid surge. Thank goodness it is a cheap card - however, I just wont pay. Then I will get neg feedback..I am starting to loathe e-bay.

I questioned his auction, and the previous sales, and this was his eloquent reply:

"hi, i had 2 cards and i sold one already but they reneged and i sold it again and i had one left the one you had won. this is no bull**** i have the card if you want it. thanks, jay"

He sold both of them to the same buyer.....this doesnt make sense.
Please, I know you are all smarter than me and would anyways, but stay away from this clown!!!!

derek,
ever been to vegas? or the race track? ever play the lottery? i bet (on all three) that you have, good thing is its only $18, if he doesnt send it...then you post a negative, dont ruin your feedback by not paying...think of it not being insured and getting lost in the mail if it never shows up.

Well, I sent a form letter out to ebay explaining how this guy is selling the same card over and over and now....he is a NRU! I would like to think that I had something to do with that...I have not heard back from him so I guess i am in the clear as far as negs go! I am done with ebay...I hope nationalsportscards catches on, because that looks the way to go!

Don't let one bad apple spoil your eBay experience. Everyone at one time or another gets duped on eBay, yet it still remains the most popular medium to by almost everything.

Dan is right. Don't pay. If the seller is not registered, he can't hit you with a negative for a non-payment.
