Default Unique Cracker Jack.....or not

Posted By: Brian

Question for the group. I just bought a 1914 Amos Strunk raw card on eBay. When I got the cards in, I thought that the other raw card that I had purchased was trimmed because of a NOTICEABLE size difference. After a few short outbursts of profanity laced wishes toward the seller, I compared it to a graded card to confirm my fears. Actually I was quite surprised to notice that the card actually had EXTRA paper on it. Almost an 1/8 inch excess paper along the top. Obviously a miscut, but in a way that I have never run into. Has anyone else run into that kind of miscut on CJ's?

BK

Brian--not highly unusual with the 1914's...

Thanks Dave, I have dealt with CJ's for a while now, and this is the first that I have seen, I just wanted to see if there were any others out there, or if it will affect the grading.

Don't think you'll find many 1915s oversized, I've been told the cutting process was changed when they chose to go to a heavier stock paper. Don't know how much substance to that theory though..
I have a handful of '14s that are off standard lenthwise, but most only a hair over 1/16"....though have not personally had any in excess width-wise...

Actually, this card is pretty unique. Not many miscuts seen for Cracker Jacks:

Wow, I guess I missed this Bresnahan completely. The description is for a whole different card, an SGC 40 Mordecai Brown, while the scan and the item headline are Bresnahan. A heckuva bargain even if the back were not miscut.
