Sad these are even being sold in a reputable auction house

I've seen those before. Not sure they aren't old repacks, but I wouldn't expect to find a Mantle in there.

Thanks Al but unless I missed it I saw Fun Packs on Dave's page but not one that looks like the one I posted.

And as Ted said this and other years in similar Fun Packs were in a reputable auction

I bought this years ago thinking it must be a fake but wondering why someone putting together a fake would include so many mistakes. But then again, the Topps 1973 Reprint set ( 1953) of 8 has 3 mistakes in it

Al's most likely got a Topps mockup piece, kludged together by Len Brown's NPD guys. From what I've been finding for every green lit project at Topps, nine got zapped-although some would end up repurposed.

That Frank Thomas pack is definitely aftermarket. Topps had no qualms selling off overstock in bulk but I believe the example above is just a fantasy piece designed for eBay and similar environs.

Appreciate the input!

Maybe if the Phillies had Foster back in the late 70s, they wouldn’t have lost the NLCS three years in a row.
