			I've seen those before. Not sure they aren't old repacks, but I wouldn't expect to find a Mantle in there.

			I bought this years ago thinking it must be a fake but wondering why someone putting together a fake would include so many mistakes. But then again, the Topps 1973 Reprint set ( 1953) of 8 has 3 mistakes in it   Last edited by ALR-bishop; 06-17-2021 at 08:10 AM. |

			Al's most likely got a Topps mockup piece, kludged together by Len Brown's NPD guys.  From what I've been finding for every green lit project at Topps, nine got zapped-although some would end up repurposed. That Frank Thomas pack is definitely aftermarket. Topps had no qualms selling off overstock in bulk but I believe the example above is just a fantasy piece designed for eBay and similar environs. Last edited by toppcat; 06-17-2021 at 07:24 AM. |
