Submission question

Posted By: Chris
I have a prewar card in a PSA 1 holder. It has a perfect front :centering, no creases ,nice corners but has some back damage(glue residue and some paper loss). I am set building in SGC. Should I submit in the holder or crack it out and submit it raw? While I'm not a grade hound I would rather a 20 than a 10. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Posted By: anthony
i always cracked them out...i wanted sgc's opinion with no influence from psa...just as long as you know it may come back a 10. if you dont want to take a chance of getting that 10, you could always ask for "authentic". i personally dont care if it were a 10 or authentic...as long as i know its real

Posted By: T206Collector
I have sent in maybe 50 PSA T206 cards to SGC in my day, and they give you the straight dope regardless of what PSA says. My PSA 4 Cobb came back an SGC 60, for example.

Posted By: Chris
Thanks for the advice. I am off to the Hofsta show on Long Island where I will submit this card along with 100 others and see what happens. I have always trusted SGC with their grading but wasn't sure if it was a PSA 1 if it had any chance of a higher grade.
Best regards, Chris
