Default Change to PSA's operating procedures

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you guys know of a change PSA just informed me of on a call:

Like many of you I have called PSA when cards are past their estimated turnaround date. PSA informed me they can not escalate or start any alerts until the card is 10 business days past the estimated completion date and 2 days without any movement. This is for value max and below service levels.

Small rant: I do not understand how it takes 25+ business days to cross over a SGC card to a PSA holder. Especially when a card is graded an authentic altered, so grade is not a question. I'll also never understand on a cross over how PSA does not communicate to SGC to remove a cert number.

I am surprised about the cert comment, especially after the buyout.

Is it laziness or they just don’t care?

I assume because they don't care. I figure they would want to remove it for those lower pop item, both modern and vintage.

I'll vote for the guess that they don't really care about SGC pop counts. Part of it could also be a function that SGC's database seems like it's not exactly state of the art, so it could be exciting to attempt to go in and deactivate a cert.

From my understanding the de-certification process for SGC is very difficult. You need to be the original submitter for the card and send in the label. Which doesn’t make sense to me. If someone sent it into to SGC, why would they then turn it around and submit to PSA after the card returned? Someone please correct me if my understanding is off

I took a small stack of SGC flips with me to Cleveland last year and was told they didn’t update the pop reports to remove cards that have been cracked out.

No, no. The joke is, is it ignorance or apathy? I don't know and I don't care!

Probably because PSA does not have adequate staffing to grade the 1.66mm cards they slabbed last month. Your crossover is a drop in the ocean.

Yeap. They will do what makes them more money as they should. And that includes time frames etc...
