The choreographed (and premature) choke sign from Halliburton is the opposite of class. He and Reggie Miller share the same DNA. They both beat the Knicks, but they have no class.

I can't disagree with you about the Halliburton choke. I'm still surprised that he didn't get more flack for it given that it wasn't even the game winner that he thought it was.

I wouldn't say that about the rest of the team though. Siakam seems like a class act kind of player. I find it hard to root against him

I agree with you about Siakam. He's the kind of guy who should really be playing for the Knicks.

Game 7 predictions? I’d like the Pacers to win but playing away is tough.

Here’s a history lesson — Reggie Miller’s choke sign was before the game was over, then he finished the deal. Tyrese did the same. If anything, that deserves more respect. Both own New York. That lopsided rivalry isn’t about class — it’s about kicking your ass. And “choreographed”?? He saved it for the perfect moment, with #31 courtside — now it is legend.

Unfortunately for NY, he’s going to be giving them their medicine for many years to come.

It's so embarrassing. The Knicks lose to the Pacers, and then Dolan panics, sh*ts the bed and fires the coach. You can't make this stuff up.

The Pacers are also getting FANTASTIC work from former Knick Obi Toppin…

I could be totally wrong but I’m guessing Toppin gets more minutes and is more impactful than Turner tonight. I like Turner but OKC doesn’t seem to be his best matchup.

Well, order has been restored in the universe. Pacers made a helluva run. Respect.

I thought Haliburton might have a Willis Reed moment. But, alas, karma came back to bite him.

Gotta give it up for the Pacers, I agree. They had a far better season than anyone expected them to. On the other side, the Thunder are just too talented. And young, too - they will remain the team to beat for the foreseeable future.

My post on Toppin did not age well. Hopefully Halliburton recovers. Ridiculous run by the Pacers. Congrats to the Thunder. Now go Jazz….

You just hate to see a star player go down in a game 7; we'll never know if the outcome would have been different. He and Tatum both with major achilles injuries in the playoffs, ouch.

Go chase your DEI demons, little man. When someone says a guy blowing out his Achilles is karma for beating their team, after crying about a lack of class, that deserves a to-the-point response.

Woah, easy there, hoss. I don't think I went below the belt, particularly in the context of this thread. And even if you think my comment about karma getting back at Halliburton isn't classy (however true it might be), you said it wasn't about class, it was about ass kicking. Well, there was a lot of ass kicking last night, that's for sure.

If you're going to dish it, you've got to be able to take it.

I don’t give a damn about the result, but you saying a person suffering a serious injury is some karmic payback is lowlife garbage. I’m sorry if you can’t recognize the difference.

I can assure you that many see it as karmic payback for his taunting.

I can also see why pointing that out that might offend fans of a team whose two biggest icons are celebrated more for their theatrical taunts than they are for the rings on their fingers.

Well congrats, you and your fellow infantile keyboard warriors hiding behind anonymity can celebrate a man needing surgery to walk again and maybe play in a year. What an absolute loser.

These are actual human beings, dipshit, not just characters on TV. Tyrese is a great citizen of Indianapolis and Indiana. Maybe you just have no idea what that looks like.

A lot of what we Knicks fans heard about in the wake of his choke sign was how awesome and cool his taunt was. Indiana fans seemed to relish in it, even more so than the victory itself.

No one is celebrating his injury. We just point out that it is a lesson in karma.

Trash talking is a long-established part of the NBA. Maybe Tyrese is a little over the top, but whatever, it's entertainment in essence. The beloved Larry Bird could trash talk with the best of them. This young man's injury was highly unfortunate and could not have come at a worse time for his team, for both teams really since I am sure OKC would have preferred a game with Indiana at full strength. That's really all there is to say about it, hopefully he fully recovers, and same with Jayson Tatum from my part of the country.

PS there's no karma involved here. That's an absurd gloss IMO. Just a miserable injury.

I'm neither a deity nor a theologian, so I can't argue with you about whether karma had a hand in things!

But obviously enough elements of a karmic narrative are there that the mere mention of it can elicit a full tilt on this thread.

Hopefully you eventually reach the point in your personal development that you don’t think bad results for your team mean the opposition (possibly) deserves to be in a hospital bed unable to walk. I wish you good luck in that journey.

Speaking of personal development, once you've cooled down, I recommend you take a dispassionate read through this thread again. There was only one person who devolved into name calling, four-letter profanity, and personal attacks.

I would strongly suggest "Blocking" Baltifox. I feel so much better about this site after having done so. What a great feature.

Thus betraying the mentality of a teenage girl. "Oh, I'm ignoring you! So there! " Pathetic.

In my 25 years on discussion forums, never once have I even considered ignoring/blocking another poster. I have no problem dealing with/responding to disagreements.

You repeatedly conflate "celebrating victory" with excessive taunting in your responses. To be clear (again): Karma came and bit Haliburton back not because the Pacers beat the Knicks or because he "celebrated his victories", but because he taunts like a jackass (he and his father, both, I might add).

Haliburton is not the most sympathetic of the many players who suffered season ending Achilles injuries this year (including a couple of others in the playoffs).

And just because some people don't have thick enough skin to see that hard truth spelled out doesn't make it any less true.
