The high BIN thing is somewhat of a game that ebay has forced on sellers. If it didnt work, I'm sure 707 SC would try something different. I was called some of the worst filth I've read on the internet the last time I mentioned questionable ebay seller habits - I'll spare you the redneck vernacular

edited to add: regarding 707, make a fair offer if you see something you like - I've been told that he, specifically, is very open to fair offers.

I tried a offer once on a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle, he was asking $1595 for one in poor condition, and it was in a rougher looking poor condition. I figured this thing is worth about 1000-1100 so those were my offers he countered with 1525 both times. That was waaaayyyy too high to pay. I then won an auction a few weeks later for a beautiful SGC 30 for $1636. It just seemed ridiculous that he would not come down.
If it happens to be that he does that to prove a point then I guess that can explain to same counter offer. I really hate when people get offended when I make a lowball offer, I am not trying to be a jerk I just want to save money. I have had experiences attempting to make deals with board members and they got upset at some of my offers, I had to beg for them to come back and talk to me LOL. The negotiating price thing makes me nervous, I wish it would be as smooth as Pawn Stars and no one got offended.
But now that you guys told me you had good experiences with 707, perhaps I will give it another shot. There is one of his items I have been drooling over and it's not priced super high, just too high, maybe I will try an offer and see what happens, then if he takes it. I'm glad I brought this up because now I got some good advice, I hope it works. Wish me luck with my offer.
