Blue Chips
Bob and Mark -
While I don't know the entire story behind the 1989 Donruss Blue Chip set, it is my understanding that this was intended to be a Canadian release, using the same subjects as the American "Grand Slammers" subset. The Blue Chip set was never released, though a few cards (samples/promos?) leaked out. I saw this on eBay several years ago and as a McReynolds collector, jumped all over it (how could i not for $10?) I'm not sure if these cards were hand cut from a sheet or not - though I do find it odd that the top of the card is trimmed. Usually I try to stay away from altered cards, but given the rarity of the item, it doesn't bother me that much. I have never seen another McReynolds Blue Chip card before. Thanks, Todd
