There are so many variations I am not surprised. There have to be over 2,700 different known postcards with no known complete checklists. The existing checklists are compilations of earlier listings of photo's available.
Since JD McCarthy took many of his original pictures during spring training, some of the players aren't even positively identified. That being said he captured images of many players and the set contains some of the only known images of some obscure players. For these reasons, JD McCarthly postcards have a place in the collecting hobby.
