Default SGC Not Grading McCarthy Postcards

I've been informed SGC is no longer grading McCarthy Postcards - this has been PSA policy for a while.

Does anyone know which grading company will grade these?

Thanks!

One of my favorites for reference:

That sucks. I've been encountering similar pushback from SGC recently on items they've traditionally graded (and PSA hasn't graded). I was really hoping they'd maintain their niche in the TPG world, but PSA is apparently putting a stop to that. Again, that sucks.

Yep, I've been seeing it too. I sent in a 1974 Pirates Team Issue Dave Parker they also wouldn't grade, I am pretty sure they would have graded pre-PSA acquisition.

If CGC or Beckett grades them, I'll happily send in.

I'll wager Beckett will gladly take those cards to grade and I'll wager the same for CGC

Does CGC have oversized card holders yet? That was a limfac earlier this year.

There are so many variations I am not surprised. There have to be over 2,700 different known postcards with no known complete checklists. The existing checklists are compilations of earlier listings of photo's available.

Since JD McCarthy took many of his original pictures during spring training, some of the players aren't even positively identified. That being said he captured images of many players and the set contains some of the only known images of some obscure players.

For these reasons, JD McCarthly postcards have a place in the collecting hobby.
